Premier League Games 16/17/18 Sept 23

Yes I agree. You wonder why they do it. They are actually a good side and there is no need to fall over every couple of minutes. If they actually carried on playing surely it would benefit them more. The more attention is paid to their antics I would imagine the less they will get any benefit.

You have much more faith in PIgmol than I do

Yeah, that's never been the case. In the same way that two defenders (normally the keeper is one) need to be behind the line for it not to be offside, it just doesn't come into play often enough for people to notice how the laws really work.
following the discussion now they seem to be saying the defender’s deflection is not a deliberate action, but he’s certainly trying to touch the ball. is the deliberate about the direction? because the arsenal player also doesnt deliberately play the ball that way either

reminds me of erikksens non-deliberate touch in the city spurs 4-3 game when sterling was given offside.

This won't be a popular thing to say, but i'll say it anyway - VAR has been making more and more good and brave decisions lately. They also seem more comfortable with calling the ref to the monitor and have him affirm his initial decision. Long may it continue.

We are shit at creating chances. Arteta needs to know he has to win today, has to beat Spurs next week, has to win at Bournemouth the week after and then has to beat City at the Emirates. Else he is failing. You don't spend all that money and talk so much about going 'to the next level' without backing it up on the pitch. We will probably win today, and against Spurs and Bournemouth but play like this against City and we will be torn a new one

Sky host failing to understand that a deliberate act to play the ball means there has to be some control, a block is a controlled deliberate act ffs.

Exactly!! That is what they should be stamping out of the game it's a fucking disgrace.
It’s a much bigger problem than racism is in the game… there’s a big drive against racism (rightly so, because for the small amount of it there is, it’s still too much), but there should be a bloody gigantic movement to try and kick cheating out of football. It’s by far the worst thing about the sport.

Arsenal are probably the worst English side I’ve ever seen for it.

So on the goal, Gabriel plays it, but deflects (so not in control technically) off Beto to Nketiah who is just offside. With lines that are calibrated to stop human error. According to the laws today its offside but I dont personally think it should be off!!

A weird one but correct as the laws stand today!!

Kelly Dalgliesh making a fool of Neville ;)

Think Neville is the bigger of two tbh .
