Premier League Games 2/3/4/5 January '23

Every team, even in a title-winning season, has a wobble over the course of 6-8 games. We dropped 7 points in 6 games even in the Centurions season. You can drop 20 points and still win the title handsomely. We've dropped 12 so far and we know how strong we can be when chasing down a team ahead of us.

Arsenal haven't had their wobble yet. They have some tough games up to and including the game against us. They could drop 6, 8 or 9 points in those games. If they only drop 2 or 3 then they'll be in the driving seat but have they got the mentality to win game after game if we're breathing down their necks?

Brentford stuffed the Dippers and Leeds got a point at Newcastle , the league this year is topsy turvy any team can beat any other team at the moment , even though we are stuck in first gear and not showing our title credentials , as in previous seasons we have shown we are capable of stringing a dozen wins together , just hope it starts on Thursday night.
Yes, a Gundo pep talk like the one after WBA a couple of years ago. But would also help if Pep picked the right team - I’m hoping he has just been holding back for the next 2 PL games.

Do some on here not realise we haven't even got half way yet?

We've only played 16 games, are a point in front of the geordies with 2 games in hand. Forget about the rags, they aren't even in the equation, it's us and Arsenal for the shoot out.

And i trust pep and i trust this team to put a run together, never write us off as we always show our minerals in the end.
It is between you and Arsenal. We (Newcastle) were never in with a chance of winning the league but we'll still have a big part to play in who does as we've still got to play Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool and Spurs at home.

I just hope you lot keep it going and keep the tramps, spurs and chelsea out. Would love you to keep the rags out but they are keeping their momentum up.

Man U's next league game is against you and I can't see them getting anything from that and then they've got Arsenal so we'll see how they get on.

I think your next two home games look like home bankers.

Are we at that stage of the season already where we're looking at other teams fixtures :)

Mahrez had no impact on the game whatsoever, from first to last. Grealish had very little, despite a lot of running around (often backwards, and into the centre of the field). Akanji is very naive on the equaliser. He commits to leaving Gray far too early, and gives him the space he needs. The rest of the defence is surprised by it, too.
I don't want to see either Mahrez or Grealish in the starting line-up at the Bridge. I truly, sincerely don't. Foden and Álvarez please. With you-know-who between them. He looked angry at the end. I want to see that anger put to good use on Thursday.
Yes Mahrez had no impact at all in the game except his brilliant skill to set up our only goal of the game, and his great cross in the final seconds of the game that Rodri failed to capitalize on.

Yes we should have got 6 points. However the point I’m making is that the media are making out the rags are some returning force and in the title race when in fact they and any team in the top 6 should be winning all these games anyway

We’ve been playing pretty crap recently, not confident of putting a consistent run together ……… Saturday
