Premier League Games 2/3/4/5 January '23

Obviously prefer a defeat but will take drawing at home to anybody all day even to a very handy Newcastle side on the provision we beat Chelsea Thursday.

Tonights results show how abysmal we were against Everton, Brighton scoring 4 away, we didn't even create 4 chances to score all game against them, our lack of creativity is worrying.

From Arsenal's point of view though it's not a bad result and keeps their momentum going which is what we desperately need to halt.
I went to the last game and agree with you but I’ve been reflecting on the set up and can’t help but feel Pep deliberately set up that way and played with low intensity on purpose in light of the run of games we have…..thinking that the correct results against the correct teams is better than a high intensity encounter with a bottom club ……if that wasn’t the case then it’s a truly bizarre and erroneous result.

Unreal. They (Everton) have 1 point from the last 5 league games and it happened to be against us.

It is between you and Arsenal. We (Newcastle) were never in with a chance of winning the league but we'll still have a big part to play in who does as we've still got to play Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool and Spurs at home.
Nothing against your team and you’ve done well this season but I think you’ll fade and not finish in the top 4 unfortunately.

People go on about sterling - but for me - the back up this lad supplied, his decision making and his potential - a ridiculous decision to allow him to go - and to Arsenal!!?
The most bizarre thing was the fact it was because we were trying to get cucurella? A deal, which from the start by all accounts was only going to happen at 60m+ and city from the start had no intention of paying that. So, we can’t promise regular football and he leaves- meanwhile we go and get a LB who is clearly not ready for first team football to replace him. I would have had zinny playing every week at LB quite happily with stones Dias and walker. That defence got us to a champions league final and I believe is our strongest defensively by far

Arteta a **** on the touchline and after match interview , maybe the cracks are beginning to show , we turn up at the Emirates within striking distance of the Goons , the touchline with Pep & Arteta should be interesting.
Pep has done it , had it , eaten the T-shirt , where as Arteta is just cutting his teeth at this level.
Would be nice to shove it up their self entitled fans , the Dippers fans are the biggest whining , moaning f*ckers but the Goons are very close second.
His stress levels will get into his youngish teams head and their arse ( ;) ) will go.

Newcastle look the real deal for top four, in my opinion. But you do have previous for looking very promising indeed, and finally fading. Not least in the 2011-12 season. It was our result at St James's Park (I was truly terrified of that game) that finally put paid to your Champions League ambitions, and put us in what looked like pole position to be champions (!). I'd be happy to see them in top four. Particularly if it means excluding Liverpool, United and Tottenham. Unlikely that all three can be kept out, sadly.

None of the games tonight get the blood pumping, really. I'll probably opt for the L***s/West Ham game.
I can see spurs in present form struggling at palace. Might be worth switching on the second half to see sir Harold of Kane sulking around the midfield fouling people if they go a couple behind.
