Just watched the Nunez goal.
First, what is the Forest player doing trying to dribble it out?
Second, their keeper has plenty of time (and can see the flick all the way) to attempt to get a hand on Nunez’s header but instead just shuffles in place and watches it go past. The ball wasn’t even in the corner of the goal—it was as near to him as it was to the post as it went by. It literally takes two seconds to go from Nunez’s head to bouncing past the goal line.
I can’t speak to whether the amount of stoppage time played was legitimate, or whether Liverpool being given possession of the ball after the Konate head injury was actually impactful to the outcome, as I didn’t watch the match.
But the attempted dribbling out and the keeper not moving for a ball hit well inside the goal (would be a piss poor, easily saved shot if it were a penalty) is just woeful.
Not saying Forest intentionally played to increase the chances of a late winner being scored, but that they certainly didn’t do the basic things to prevent it.
Likely just fatigue of a shite team but it boggles the mind, all the same.
