I saw a video a few months back (possibly one of the Tifo ones) which was basically looking at the question "what is United's style of play?" and it was actually quite interesting.

In essence, the fact they don't really look like they have a plan, sort of... is the plan. In many ways it's the polar opposite of Pep's philosophy - their entire set-up is built around neutralising opposing systems as much as possible so that the game is won and lost by individuals. They deliberately try and sit in defensively, and then make their attack chaotic and unstructured. By doing this, it turns the game into a series of one-on-one battles where they hope the likes of Fernandes can conjure something. And the thing is, he does often do that when they're playing a mid-table team.

The problem is, that this approach doesn't work when you're playing a team with equally good individual players. And it also means their performances are much more subject to dramatic variation, which is why they are so inconsistent. The truth is, they will never win a league playing with this style.
 
Rags are shit. Brighton are poor as well - we play them next week.
 
Not sure on that Minteh. Heard big things about him but he doesn’t seem to know what he’s about to do whenever he’s got the ball
