Virgil hasn't the same speed after that injury. Caught out today. But Newcastle needed to get tighter from 80 mins onward. The signs were ominous.

Have never rated Howe , he has that underdog ,cling on to what ya got attitude that works at lower level clubs, but if Newcastle want to push on then they will need a new manager soon .

Mate, if his attitude had been ‘cling on to what you’ve got’ I’m not sure his team would be giving the ball away in centre field like that, leading to their second goal.
After the equaliser, they didn’t strike me like they were playing conservatively thinking they’d take a draw - which in retrospect maybe they should have done.

That said, taking Tonali and Gordon off so early was a big mistake too.
