Premier League Games 26/27/28 December '23

Yep I understand that but Newcastle don't seem to have any more ambition than being in the Prem, they need better players obviously and manager . I know they can't throw mega millions at the problem but they can throw some money at it !!!
Spent over £400 million since the takeover

They have thrown quite a bit of money at it, but in the year before the takeover Newcastle's revenue was approx £150m. That same year, Man City had revenues of more than £550m.

Bear in mind City even have a pretty low net transfer spend, because when you have a team worth £750-£1b then it's a lot easier to sell players and bring in new ones. If you have a squad worth £200m and want one in the same range as the current rich six, then you need to be spending MORE than the clubs above you.

Newcastle have spent as much money as they can, but they would need to be spending hundreds of millions, if not billions, to compete with the clubs at the very top.

I'd say they need a next level up from Howe type manager.

There in a nutshell is the unfairness of ffp. It is doing the job it was created for, protecting the elite. A club can suddenly strike it lucky and get a rich owner but they can't spend the amount required to really compete at the top level.

Absolutely - although the greater evil is the system that created that gap in the first place.

FFP would be fine if the playing field started level.
