Premier league games 26/27/28 September

Vardy et al will be smashing balls at our defenders hands after that game.
I recall a world Cup, it may have been USA 94 where Baggio deliberately kicked a ball at the defenders arm and they gave a penalty. I never see that happen again for 25 years until this season started. Its going to happen. Defenders have to decide to put their arms behind the back. Dier should have jumped up folding his arms forward lol

That's twice now. We got done by Southampton by an even worse decision. Dier has his back to the man and still gives away a penalty lol. I'm not sure how bluehammer defends all this. Go back to basic human error

They are trying to do the impossible and make a rule that is black and white. Handball is the hardest rule to legislate for

SSN BREAKING NEWS: Following on from decisions made at Brighton and Tottenham. VAR has just awarded Leicester City a penalty and a red card for Nathan Ake pre kickoff.

This is not a VAR issue now. The IFAB rule on handballs are being implemented this season. This is something from the ‘top’ of the organisations that run the game. They’d have to rewrite the law/rules if the FA’s of the different leagues complain enough.

Honestly, what rules/laws should be implemented so as to sort this particular issue out? What do the BM faithful think?
Really what's happened here is that they've gone from one extreme of almost never giving handballs to almost always giving them. In THEORY this isn't too bad as when you see all the handballs given you can go away and figure out which ones are fair or not and come up with a more precise means of calculating what is and isn't a handball.

The problem is that they've gone far too extreme for the sake of having a blanket and objective rule and therefore now we're seeing handballs for anything.

There should be more of an effort made for what intent means. There are occasions where the arm is out and you could argue that even if the player could do nothing to move it, it shouldn't have been there to begin with. But then there are occasions like with Dier where it's out and absolutely nothing could be done. They probably will relax on this stuff as the season goes on (hopefully).

Personally I think the bigger issues are penalties themselves. Sometimes they're perfectly valid, but it doesn't seem fair that minor infringements just inside the area result in a free shot at goal.

Articulate and concise. Appreciate your insight.
