Best part of 50 years on and I'm still embarrassed to admit that I moaned like fuck for a pair of those. My Dad had not long passed and we were pretty skint, my Mum, God Bless her, bought me a pair of white boots from Timpsons. Needless to say, as Pardoe's obvious replacement at left back, I wasn't overly impressed at the prospect of playing in a pair of Timpson's finest and acted like a little shit!

About the same time, it was Christmas 1970 after Brazil won the World Cup, loved the boots and they were relatively expensive, bet your Mum was devastated but they never showed it did they? I think they were moulded studs but can't be sure.
