As ridiculous as that offside looks, the on field decision was offside. So not only would it have not been given without VAR, but even if there was a rule where tight calls resulted in the on field decision standing (which many have suggested), it still would have been off.

Villa and most of their fans are thoroughly dislikeable to say the least. While the Shameful Nine are beyond the pale I don't feel the same dislike to say Wolves or Newcastle fans as I do most Villa. Absolute shithouses at Wembley. At least some of the wolves fans showed their displeasure to their owners about their shithousery towards City. Can't imagine any Villa fans doing that.

I didn't notice any snide digs today.

In fact, he was very complimentary at times.

I don't want to listen to a commentator continually blowing smoke up our arse, like gargoyle one does with the rags or spit the Scouse does with Littlewoods; just one who tells it as it is and compliments or criticises when necessary, which is what Hinchcliffe did today.

That wasn’t his starting point today. He will be sort of complimentary when we are well on top, but when the game starts, and until the first goal goes in, he always seems to make comments from our opponents perspective, what they ‘need to do’ basically, without ever talking as well about what City ‘need to do’ to score, to break our opponents down etc. When we did score today, it was all about how poor their defending was with little recognition of the tenacity and skill of Torres for example, despite being arguably fouled, to set the goal up.
He definitely isn’t balanced, not to my ears anyway.
