Premier League Games 30/31 March '24

Arsenal would also be going into tomorrow’s game knowing a win would seal the league if they could erase all their dropped points up to now as well.

It's primarily Arsenal's away form that has cost them this season though. There is only really West Ham at home where I thought they messed up.

You can always lose away in the PL.

City on the other hand are in the position they are in because of 4 home games which we should be winning.

Palace, Chelsea, Spurs and even Liverpool.

The first 3 certainly.

I wouldn't. I think Doku will figure things out and go on to be a very good player for

It’s funny how you let Doku and Nunes have a free season to find their feet, but don’t extend the same courtesy to Palmer.

You're far from the worst example, but Normally sensible posters bending over backwards to say half thought out stupid shit trying to defend the club over a decision no one on here has a clue about is just one of the reasons the Palmer argument is so boring.

Surely we’ve all watched enough football to know you can’t judge these decisions after 6 months, and we can all just shut up about it until the dust has settled and else can make an informed judgment.
Palmer wanted out did he not? Pep wouldn't give him a guarantee of more game time it seems. Nunes to me seems like a replacement for him and hasn't really featured. All things being equal I would rather have a happy Palmer who would slowly emerge as a regular starter. But the lad seemed to back himself and we got a reasonable fee so all square really in my book.

Not the only poor result this season though, I am staggered we are still in the hunt with the way we have performed. Shows just how good we are.
Also yet to beat any of the top 5 this season. Hopefully that changes tomorrow otherwise it may be curtains for pur 4 in a row.

I think it probably shows the level has dropped significantly from a few years ago. No team from this season, Including ourselves would be touching the level we were at a few years ago.

We have dropped a bollock by letting him go. That doesn't mean we are a hotbed of incompetence, just means we don't get everything right. There's no harm in acknowledging he's going to become a top class player.
There is no “acknowledging” that.

You can claim you “believe” he will be.

But there is no certainty of it. There have been many young players that had outstanding seasons early on and then failed to achieve what was perceived as their potential.

He could go on to be the next Foden. Or he could go on to be the next Aaron Ramsey. Or Antony Martial. Or Balotelli. Or Ravel Morrison. Or Mario Gotze. Or Alexander Pato. Or Theo Walcott.

I could go on and on.

And there is certainly no certainty that he would have been anywhere near as productive with us if he had stayed, especially as what Chelsea faces each week is completely different to what we face each week.
