Premier League Games 30/Sept & 1/2/3 October '23

The red card has a slight talking point around the ball forcing Jones’ leg up onto the shin. It probably wasn’t a red card 10 years ago, but is now.

The offside is a blatant error. The VAR goon decided not to draw the lines. That’s got to be a sackable offence. It did for Lee Mason last season.

I think Mason drew the lines against the wrong player didn’t he?

They are under instruction this season to speed up the game and not bother with the lines if it’s obvious without them.

This guy has presumably seen something that made him think it was clearly off and quickly given the referee the nod to carry on.

The audio from the VAR room would be amusing, if it presumably slowly dawned on them things weren’t quite as they first thought, after play had restarted.

Leaving the scouser element to one side it underlines how fucking incompetent the system and officiating is , it’s a disgrace from top to bottom, Wolves should have been down to ten men today . It’s simply not good enough in a multi million pound industry for gross incompetence to be the norm .
Totally agree with you mate and would be going mad if it had happened to us today. However, if it had, I don't think there'd be this amount reaction or a statement from Pigmol before the broadcast had ended. Suspect they've set a new level of incompetence today.

Mason should have drawn two sets of lines on that decision. He should have worked backwards.

Whatever has made the VAR guy decide not to draw the lines must cost him his job. It’s a fundamental element of his role.

Whenever their next VAR show is, they simply can’t release that audio unless the bloke has been sacked or that the systems were down and they couldn’t do the job.

This is the crux of the matte, a multi million pound industry run by amateurs. When we were taken over the statement at the time was that we wanted to be a world class business on and off the pitch. Whilst we can argue whether or not we are off the pitch we certainly are on it. For whatever reason the PL and PGMOL is run by utter morons who are more interested in lining their pockets and not giving a shit about the game. Too many games, stupid ko times, a VAR system not fit for purpose due to the muppets responsible for it etc. They aren’t interested in ensuring the ‘product’ is the best possible version it could be, they just want the money to roll in. Where is our apology from today? Why did Pawson not dish out a second yellow for them, why did he book some players for kicking the ball away but not others. Why are more fans and clubs not up in arms about the shocking refereeing performances we see each week. Funny how O’Neil moaned last week and today received some favourable / dubious decision. Next week whoever the dippers are playing will hav3 some shockers go against them. Webb needs to come out and explain himself and his referees.
