I'm just not understanding how we've got to this point with VAR. It's intervening on everything. For Forest's goal, the flag went up. Offside. Why did Stockley Park check it at all, unless they had good grounds for considering that a clear and obvious mistake had been made!? That was VAR's remit at the start. That and nothing else. It was supposed to intervene minimally. We've now got to a point where VAR is checking much more than it was supposed to be checking (and still getting it wrong — see yesterday!).
It has completely usurped the authority of the onfield officials. I'd honestly rather go back to their mistakes, and celebrate my goals spontaneously.
