Nope we had net spend to think about. Which we achieved
The real fuckup for me is the realization we actually didn't have to sell him. He wanted to go on loan but Pep not being happy with his decision not to take a bit role, demanded he either stay or get sold.Don’t care what anybody says. It was a monumental fuck up selling Palmer.
He has well and truly lost his place in the England set up unfortunatelyPalmer looks like he wants to play.
Would have bought his own strepsils.
It was a mistake to let these two get away. There is no point being in denial. Hindsight is great but no doubt it was a mistake in my view. Like most City fans I wasn't sure about Palmer though he looked great in the Community Shield. I was wrong like many of us. I always rated Lavia though he did have bad injuries.I'm sure we couldn't keep lavia fit that's why sell on clause with Southampton
IIRC We sold cole for 40 and signed Doku for 50. ?Christ. How depressing!
Lost out on a generational talent because of net spend. I like Doku. Love him in fact. But we sold Palmer and bought Doku for not much less.
Thats next season. It looks like it’s paying off because they’ve got a large squad and are essentially playing a game a week. The conference league is them playing a whole other team. Wait until they start playing UCL football and have to play their first team.
Comfortably
