Premier League to share massive portion of £5bn TV deal.

Better then nothing. Moan, moan moan lol

With all due respect, they are lucky to get that, they don't deserve anything really, it is a deal for the PL, not grassroots and lower league clubs. The sense of entitled is astonishing.

£50m is a nothing figure to be honest. Each club will give £16m a year.

That £16m will cover ALL grass-roots facilities, participation, fan engagement, solidarity payments to the lower leagues and supporting disadvantaged groups as well as the Living Wage commitment. Most of it will go on solidarity payments and this was a planned rise.

The PL, as ever, is great at PR

its a joke. the premier league are basically laughing there heads off and rolling in money yet they are trying to make themselves out as the saviours of grass roots football when in reality its nothing. Greed is gonna kill football in this country one day.

What really annoys me is that they're heralding it as though as it's a great thing. But they're not even bothering to keep pace with the increase of income. To qoute BBC: "Donations have risen 40% from £700m, despite the TV rights going up by 70% from £3bn".

That's fucking disgraceful. At least offer the same percentage, not keep more for yourself.

And to the person who said they wished they pushed through the B team agenda in exchange for this marginal increase, you need your head checked mate. Football as we know it is dying.

talk about being In the right place at the right time

Manchester city of 2007 would have never in a million years got in the top 4 never mind top 10 clubs of the premier league. I still laugh and smile about Manchester city winning the premier league twice before Liverpool its unreal at times thinking about what we are today

little old city oh how they laugh at us from over the road that's banner they had was ticking up fast
but now what they have nothing to bash us with and with the new tv money they are fight to get 4th place or they will slip again

premier league football is alive and kicking matey and if anything its only going to get bigger and bigger forget this about fans moaning about the price of a ticket they still turn up week in week out
that's why the money will keep rolling in

for every joe blog's who never missed a game in 25 years there is 40.000 glory hunters wanting your ticket. if you think the club really cares about loyalty your daft

50 million? Where are you all getting that from?
Articles I'm reading say one BILLION (1,000 million) that's a vast amount of money to give away.

BBC

Premier League clubs have agreed to share at least £1bn of their record UK TV rights deal with lower league sides and grassroots football.
The money will include parachute payments to relegated clubs and a living wage for all full-time staff.
The Premier League sold the live TV rights for £5.136bn to Sky and BT for three years from 2016.
Donations have risen 40% from £700m after TV rights money increased by 70% from £3bn.
The £1bn figure, agreed at a meeting of Premier League clubs on Thursday, is dependent on a regulatory challenge from Ofcom and income from international TV rights sales.
In addition to providing parachute payments to relegated teams, the Premier League's member clubs agreed to invest in five key areas:
Grassroots facilities
Participation
Fan engagement and match day experience
Solidarity with lower leagues
Supporting disadvantaged groups
Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said: "These are unprecedented levels of redistribution in world sport, let alone football, which will deliver long-term progress for English football whether you are a fan, lower-league club or involved in the grassroots."
All full-time staff at Premier League clubs will be paid the living wage - based on the amount an individual needs to earn to cover the basic costs of living - by the start of the 2016-17 season.
The living wage is currently set at £9.15 an hour in London and £7.85 an hour in the rest of the UK.

50 millions each club x 20 = 1 billion.

I think that's a huge amount for the clubs to give away. Cant think of another case anywhere else.

Brilliant from the Premiership. FA (Greg effing Dyke) take note....

The Premier League give away 1 BILLION pounds and there are still people moaning. This country is brilliant, you can't make it up.

It's because it's bollocks.

The figure, the "giving it away", the commitment, everything. It's PR bullshit that doesn't mean anything and promises even less.

The Premier League don't have to give up any money but will contribute £1 billion pounds to non Premiership funding. What have the FA or the Government done to match that other than moan and point fingers.

What do you suggest the PL should have done and why are they responsible for funding the future of English football? The amount of money the FA wastes is ridiculous and the Government doesn't want to commit anything to help but yet again it's the Premier League's fault.

The Premier League is far from perfect but people need to look in other directions for Football's ills sometimes. Let's not forget that our owners are part of the PL and have contributed vast sums of money to the community. It's about time they got some credit as Scudamore correctly points out.

Every time Greg Dyke has a pop at the PL he is diverting attention away from the FAs own shortcomings. Don't fall for the little rag's tricks.
