Premier league Winter break

I don't see how this is going to make a blind bit of difference. There are the same number of games, and they have to fit into the same time period ultimately, so it just means in a different part of the season there is more congestion...

Also, who decided February was a good idea? Thats when the European games start up again. One of the advantages English teams should have is that they are firing on all cylinders for the 1st round whereas Russian/Ukrainian teams have only played some friendlies and German teams are only a couple of games back.

Good grief, calm down.
Moronic negative comments based on nothing other than a user’s own preconceived ideas rather than demonstrable facts are annoying. So you do you and I’ll continue doing me, I’ve experience at it.

So games are played every weekend meaning that there isn't actually a break. If ten teams play week one and ten team week two then by week three ten teams have had a two week break but the other ten have had only one. Factor into that possible CL games and the whole things appears somewhat foolish. Reduce the Premier league by two teams means you have lost four games - all sorted. Championship is also too large so reduce that by four teams. Reduce leagues one and two by four teams and promote for below forming more, but smaller leagues. Lost revenue on terms of home games although you may find people come more often as they don't have to spread their money thinly throughout the year thus average gates increase. Players have more chance to rest injuries as less games to play. Less away travel for lower leagues as fewer games = saved revenue for clubs and fans.

If they're introducing one, IMO it should be at the start of Jan directly after the Christmas and New Year schedule

I like the fact that three games are played in quick succession over the holidays as it gives something back to the supporters, but some "lesser" clubs take the piss by playing weakened teams where they believe there's no chance of getting a result, so a break directly after this period makes sense

But enough about United.
