Premiership>Champions League

We aren't even close to a CL winning level side yet. European football is completely different, we seem to be at the same level there as we were in the league in 2008/2009. Ultimately the CL is more prestigious worldwide than the Premier League and there is immense money to be made from winning it, plus global fame for the club. Ask Baconface what he'd rather win, I bet he'd tell you the CL, one competition he hasn't been able to dominate as continental clubs can play the rags better just as they can play us better it seems.

I really feel that our system from last season (4-5-1) could work better in the CL than our current setup. We'd be harder to break down and with Silva and Nasri behind say Aguero, would have plenty of threat on the break. Our CL campaign has made us look very naive and we've been exposed by two good teams (Bayern and Napoli) and nearly held by a merely decent team (Villarreal) when they had more of their players fit.

Trouble is, tonights setback puts more pressure on Mancini and the team from here on in.

We should hold our heads high considering we were in the group of death and all haters can go fuck themselves with scissors.

Why is it setback, here we are mainly having Europa experience and now was stepping up to a very intense level of football, where the slightest mistakes can have immense bearings as to how far you'll go in this League. I'd rather have us at either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Premiership over a period of years and then get the experience of constantly playing in the Champs League, only then can you truly think about maybe winning the Champs League.......

He has made it abundantly clear that PL is the priority with tonight´s rotation
I think he´s right under the circumstances
Now I´m also praying he´s right

No reason to dwell on this for long...

I dont think the owner is expecting instant success in europe. The important thing is to stay there and we will be in it next year.

This seasons goal was always to win the league, the CL is just a bonus.

The situation is probably a bit like Chelsea's in the beginning, after you win the premier league 1-2 times...after that the owner will want you to really step up in europe.

The issue is if we don't qualify we have made it so much harder in the prem.

Europa is potentially 9 games against maximum 7 in champs league.

The teams in it can be 4 hrs plus flying time away against mostly 2 hrs in champs league.

Playing on Sunday's puts more pressure on knowing you have to win.

I think we should not go for the Europa at all and just focus on league and domestic cups.

Agreed.
Can we name new 25 man squad for Europa League?
Can we send "secondary" officials to the away games ie. not RM,BK,DP?
If no one is involved on Thursday can we still play on Saturdays?
Would UEFA really hate us even more than they do now?
