Premium bonds

You're basically losing money by having bonds
some people are, some people aren't. For me it has repeatedly beaten a standard savings account year on year, and thats without factoring in the fact winnings are tax free whereas interest in a standard saver wouldn't be

Does anyone have premium bonds?

I have a bit of cash in a savings account with the bank and getting 0.6% interest.

I would want to be able to take it out at any time that I want and it needs to be risk free - I don't want to end up losing large chunks of it.

Would premium bonds work for me?

Any pros/cons?
I have Five Magic Beans for sale. If you havent lost your shirt since you posted that.

Can you climb?

You'll always get one or two people that beat the system, but there's not a prayer that the average person isn't losing money by having bonds.

you get 2 people every month who smash the system out of existence :)

I agree it's not for everyone, depends on your financial status, and financial objectives, but I would argue for some people, particularly those who have maxxed out their tax free savings options PB's are a decent shout

Mine seemed to go to the bottom of the draw since beginning of the year and went three months without a penny.
Cashed in half of them so changed the car, few jobs needed doing around the house and two small holidays.
Enjoy having them but they will all go if I have something I need or fancy treating myself.
£125 this month from a 25 K holding and £25 last month since I reduced.
