Premium bonds

My mam won £200 this month.

She said someone with £5 from a purchase 40 years ago had won £10k this month.

£50 for me and £100 for SWMBO. I have 4 x as many bonds as she does, not happy when this happens. I've had a really poor 3 or 4 months

£100 for me, nowt for the missus and dotter. Prize rates were cut this month weren't they? Rolling 12 month check shows my return now as just 3%, 6 months ago it was 4.7 :/

I’m tempted to put some of my savings into Premium Bonds, but no doubt the Chancellor will eventually change the rules to tax any winnings, it is the way of life. You earn it, you save, and then give it all back to the Treasury.

I would be really pissed off if they ever thought about taxing premium bond winnings.
They would lose the votes of many many pensioners if they did.

Any other inane predictions for us?

I can't believe that any pensioner who holds a significant number of bonds (or other investments) would even consider voting for Labour in the first place.

The days of the 'traditional Labour voter' are long gone. Labour haven't had a clue since John Smith died.

Does anyone know how soon they put winnings into the bank ? For those who opt for this method of payment of course.
