It turns out Kamala Harris is NOT AFRICAN American, but she IS Black American, moreso Jamaican-Indian American, but the media has claimed 'African' American for her, which she has not really dispelled. I was wondering why I kept hearing that she was not 'African American' and that some Black people in the community were unwilling to vote for her.
Her father has a tenuous relationship with her and her sister and it is muted that her parents divorce was 'difficult' and probably played a part on how she viewed Black male imprisonment.
This info very well may play a bigger position down the line.

Yeah, I can definitely see two white men known for lying with every second sentence out of their mouths — one an extreme racist with family ties to the KKK and a horrific “relationship” with minorities, the other with deep-seated, religiously inspired misogynistic ideology and a very questionable track record with minorities himself — trying to parse out Harris’ exact race and ethnicity in an attempt to say she’s “not Black enough” (apparently to... discredit *her* authenticity in some way?), being a very fruitful political strategy sure to win over the people not already supporting them at this point.Hmm...
