President Joe Biden

I’d give this post a like but you spoiled it at the start which a needless pot shot which was then followed by a remarkably concise and well argued set of points about US politics.

You and your Fogged Brained pal are denying a simple thing; 3/4 of Americans want M4A. 76% overall and they can't get it at the most important time in that nation's history of wealth! That's a floor vote that HAS to happen the next time unless Biden actions moving towards that more rapidly.

And, yet, somehow you both think that this "seismic shift to the left" will split the nation??

The only REAL thing that would do that is the owning of guns; everything else they would adapt to thus expelling the GOP further into the wilderness.

You know I’m in favour of M4A right?

I’d also outlaw lobbying personally and do a million other things that few outside of AOC et al would even propose. I’m not tied to Biden, I simply thought (quite rightly) that he’d be best placed to beat Trump. Hopefully Trump gets convicted in the Senate and someone progressive can get in 2024. You forget that you and I both want the same policies in the US, we differed on what was the best way to take the first step to that (ie Trump losing in November)

Yes, good post and something I entirely agree with.

I detest the simple bile on here about how 'great' Biden is, with his HUGE history of supporting war AND wanting to gut social security for citizens, which he will do to 'balance the books'.

If the Dems go back to the neoliberal policies of Obama, they'll be in a new fight and Harris will be challenged (should she ever succeed) by a more Progressive Dem as well as a more hard-lined Republican come the next vote.

It will be 'the Devil and the deep blue sea' for her.

Sounds awful - might as well just get Trump back as it no different right?

Quote a single post where someone has said how great Biden is.

Do you not realise that it was Obama type policies that created the gap someone like Trump?

No?

Okay...
It wasn’t his policies, it was his colour and was followed by a poor choice of candidate that allowed Trump to appeal to the baser instincts of poor white non-college educated America.

The changing demographics make the chance of that happening again minuscule. Especially if the Dems can now pass the Voter Rights Act.
