President Joe Biden

It wasn’t his policies, it was his colour and was followed by a poor choice of candidate that allowed Trump to appear to the baser instincts of poor white America.

If it was his colour, how did he get in, in the first place? The candidate? Well, I thought she won the popular vote? That's some of the metric, right?

Obama abandoned the poor in favour of the rich, the middle class and big business. Remember, nobody went to jail under his watch in the housing crash.

Not one that I recall.

Do you misinterpret Bigga’s and Cheese’s posts then?

I’ve not read all their posts so can’t really opine on the validity or otherwise. What I can say is @Mazzarelli's Swiss Cheese post was worth a read and the follow up by @FogBlueInSanFran equally so.

My assertion that I was in a permanent state of arousal was flippant and obviously with tensions are running high in here perhaps misplaced.

The housing crash wasn’t under his watch and it’s the DoJ which indicts people and before Trump, the DoJ always acted without influence of the POTUS. Trump/Barr were the first two that acted as POTUS said to. But that’s by the by and whilst you’re having a go at Obama, I thought you used to be a fan of his whilst he was in office. What’s changed?

What changed?

The promise of the 'hope' he promised changed.

The fact that he implemented MORE war changed things.

His steadfast refusal to hold to account the police unions for supporting legalised murder amongst their force. He skirted around the situation instead of outright condemnation.

What changed? He was a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing.

At least with Trump, he made no bones he was a Wolf.

You forgot the smiley face.
You can't be serious with that rubbish.

It wasn’t his policies, it was his colour and was followed by a poor choice of candidate that allowed Trump to appeal to the baser instincts of poor white non-college educated America.

The changing demographics make the chance of that happening again minuscule. Especially if the Dems can now pass the Voter Rights Act.

Agree with that - but that demographics argument was made when Obama was POTUS. I remember reading then that the GOP would struggle to ever win the Whitehouse as the demographics of the voter base was moving away from them.

And then Trump used exactly that issue to win the Whitehouse. The reality is that the GOP control lots of the lower level of the political system and that + the electoral collage mean they will be able to skew the system in the favour for the foreseeable.

The Dems need to be bold on this. Make DC a state. You 100% know that the GOP would do that if it helped them.
