The vax rates of Latinx and Black Americans of all political stripes are also low and some of that is due to misinformation about the vax in their communities.

I think there is also a deep, longstanding mistrust in those communities too about medical treatments as well as the government.

It's a moral dilemma, but it's not moral equivalence.

"If you go in the bomb shelter, you're chicken / the bombs aren't real / you'll catch something in the shelter."

"If you go in the bomb shelter, you'll never under any circumstances whatever be hurt by a bomb."

Both are lies, but I think you'd bend over a long way to equate them. Biden can't guarantee it, but if it's one in 30,000 vaccinated people who are hospitalised or died, then it's probably as much a guarantee as any political promise.

But a vaccine that plugs you into the 5G network, that they believe.

Frankly, the truth hardly matters in dealing with paranoia, but in ethical arguments it's commonplace to reason that a small lie to achieve a great good is acceptable.

It's a good job smallpox has been eliminated (with a lot of mandatory vaccination) or it would now be flourishing again.

I admit the headline looks especially awkward, but a lot less so if you read the article, so I don't think had I read it before you posted it I would have posted that it looks "awkward for Biden."

If you can prove the vaccine kills the virus 100%, so nobody contracts or transmits it, you'd have a really good argument, making "if you believe in the science" redundant.

I mean I can point to more and more '"breakthrough" cases being reported.
