President Joe Biden

Thank fuck someone's not posting his usual spiel, eh?

Kudos for finally doing the right thing when you help create the issue, Mr Pres!

Not sure about exit strategy cos I thought he'd have negotiations/ talks with the inevitable parties involved but, hey! what do I know...
I guess this is as left-handed a compliment as I've ever seen.

But yeah, Bigga, the so-called "war hawk" (by your own assessment) dude now in charge of the USA actually pulled us out of Afghanistan... unaccountably different than the "exactly the same" dude previously in charge.

As much as you'd like to paint the two as extremely different, Biden is merely carrying out the last tenure's policy.

This is not his any more than the ACA was Obama's nugget of 'brilliance'.

So... let's just see where the next 'war' props up in the next couple of years, eh?

Do you mean crops up or pops up?

"Props up" in the context you are referring to doesn't make any sense.

Trump and Biden are miles apart.

You are seemingly an ultra-progressive and thus dislike Biden. Yet it's confounding/amazing/stupefying/inexplicable that you fail to see any difference at all between - on the one hand - a fascist - and on the other, a centrist Democrat.

At any rate, Trump wanted to withdraw from Afghanistan but for whatever reason did not - Biden did withdraw in fact.

Neither Trump nor Biden seem to be war hawks - but Trump's completely unpredictable behavior coupled with his penchant to believe whomever last spoke with him - paints Trump as the much more likely leader to enter into war - all the more so if Trump's fragile ego were damaged by a foreign adversary.

They had been drawing down for sometime with 2.5k left and many of the allies doing likewise for the past 2-3 years.

Support staff , advisors and local who had assisted the west for many years left to leave the country under Taliban rule with the Taliban holding all the right cards.

We in oz had closed our embassy months ago.

No military American deaths in battle for many months.

Trump signed the deal which put the second phase of withdrawal in motion but you never do deals with terrorists.

I wouldn't so much call it a withdrawal but a complete disaster in a way the " final " eviction was handled partly signalled by the previous administration.

No one comes out of this with any red badge to tell their children.

Biden has no time for the region or the people never did never will he was dead against the US being in the region in the first place and you find some merit in that view.

No major terrorist acts on US soil since Sept 11 might signal some positives in the early dispatch of western forces in the region but its been a lesson learnt the hard way and the fact its situation normal amongst the tribes again but now many more want to leave in a hurry doesn't bode well for Sleepy Joe.

While the polls don't mean much in American politics and these people have short memories and are more forgiving waiting for the next 24/7 PR soundbite set Joe and Kamala are not flavour of the month and rightly so at this stage of their ever fracturing partnership.

Economically if inflation goes gangbusters and new variants with resistance slip into country and fill up the hospitals and the southern border issue is not turned on its head its not a rosy picture for this so called democracy or for the Democrats.

I wonder what the US will do preytell if China invade Taiwan.

I'll put it simply for you: Trump, a Fascist Democrat; Biden, a Centrist Democrat.

What's the commonality, bud? Mr Manchin is pretty much centre of the two as of now, where in years gone by, Trump and Biden were very much of the same stock.

You can keep on kidding yourself, if it makes you happy.

Okay...
