President Joe Biden

@mancity1
Biden has been prone to gaffs throughout his career. That he is somehow sliding into mental incompetency is a right-wing narrative among Trump supporters that has no basis in fact.

Obama was very reluctant to pick Biden as his running mate for this very reason - Biden is at times his worst enemy and always has been.
I am not right wing blue far from it and I know others who are not who are concerned for his ability to read efficiently.

A number of " lefties I know " share this view.

He does struggle to complete his sentences as his recent sojourn to the town hall in California demonstrated.

We all age and degenerate at different rates of cognitivity and Biden was far more lucid and easy to understand when he was VP than he is now.

10 years ago he could ad- lib proficiently as well.

I didn't specifically focus on mental incompetency it was more around his his memory and speech and speech patterns.

We shall see but I cannot see him making it in the job for the full term.

I'm not sure if you know this about Biden or not...

Biden as a child had an obvious stuttering problem. Whenever speaking in public he'd stutter - at times badly. But he slowly overcame this debilitation - he now speaks slower than you might expect and with more deliberation.

As for your observation that BIden is in mental decline - I disagree - 100%. He's always spoken slowly and sometimes stumbled - and he's always been prone to gaffs.

Health allowing - I think that Biden will run for a 2nd term in office - simply because that's the best chance for Democrats to win.

LOL! WTAF? Is CNN and the WH roasting Biden minutes after his town hall?

Seems like all his major 'promises' are unravelling!

You know most of his pre election 'promises' would cost a lot more to implement even if some of them passed into law.

I love the one where he talks about abolishing the long standing filibuster on his agenda.

The blame game begins.

I do and have been reminded of it a number of times by other mooners.

I disagree he speaks that slowly its just that he tends to ramble somewhat incoherently at times and forgets basic things.

He said the other day he was VP for 36 years but I think he meant what it was like for the VP 36 years ago although who knows.

if you think these are signs of mental decline that is your projection I haven't said that.

he rambled on about his baseball and football exploits in an interview shortly after elected supposedly good faith but when fact checked they were found to be incorrect.

Again if you look and listen to his speeches when Obama was in office he was much more lucid and not prone to memory lapses like for example the Longbeach gaff a couple of days ago.

he won't seek a second term health allowing or otherwise the Democrats will have a better chance with someone else.

Harris was unpopular and won't contest either.

Both are already on the nose and it will only get tougher for them in the months and year to come.
