President Trump

Ridiculous post. Of course things go wrong when working in development and some projects don’t work. I’ve worked in the development sector for 25 years and sometimes interventions carry risk, not least because of the volatile contexts in which they operate. But for fucks sake we are all trying to improve the lives of poor and vulnerable people - it’s not easy to do but let’s at least try.
Whilst you sit at home tut tutting. Get out of the Trump/Musk bullshit and look to your humanity
You really didn't understand my post, did you? You just wanted to go off about something, something, something so you scanned the first line, made an assumption, and ignored everything else.

After predictions that Pam Bondi would not be confirmed:

Pam Bondi has been confirmed as Attorney-General 54-46 with Democrat John Fetterman voting to confirm.

It seems perhaps there may be some form of bribery going on here in order to subvert the normal democratic process.

Perhaps they could get the FBI to inv... Oh, never mind.

U.N. estimates rebuilding Gaza will cost $80 billion. We all know how estimates work. U.N. estimates treating the rubble alone will take 14 years.

Who will pay? Who will want to pay when Hamas will still run things?

Peanuts for Musk, Zuckerburg and Bezos , can build Hotels and golf courses within a couple years.

Absolutely insane that people bought this bullshit narrative that trump was "anti war". He dropped more drone bombs than any president in history in his first term. And it's clear he will make any land grab possible.

It was obvious to anyone with half an ear to the ground how he was going to be

Apart from shipping them off to other countries, it's a proven and workable process with natives in the USA.

They could always send them to Madagascar.
Trump's already in negotiation with El Salvador to send jailed criminals who are US citizens to its notorious mega jail. Maybe they could keep a place available for him in 2029?

Trump has only been back in office for 5 minutes and already ordered air strikes on Somalia.

This is a continuation of what happened in the last days of the Biden administration at the request of the government of Somalia in the ongoing conflict with ISIS / ISIL.

In a post on X, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed gratitude for “the unwavering support of the United States in our shared fight against terrorism”.

“Your bold and decisive leadership, Mr. President, in counterterrorism efforts is highly valued and welcomed in Somalia,” Mohamud posted.

LYON, France – An international counter-terrorism operation in East Africa has led to the arrest of 37 suspects and the seizure of both small arms and heavy weapons. Those arrested include suspected members of ISIS, Al Shabaab and several foreign terrorist fighters.

Arrests were made across eight East African countries during a joint INTERPOL and AFRIPOL operation (November-December 2024) aimed at identifying and arresting suspects with links to terrorism and strengthening key border controls.

In Kenya, police arrested 17 people including two suspected ISIS members, several foreign terrorist fighters and others involved in terrorism financing, radicalization and propaganda.

Kenya’s rise in al-Shabaab attacks calls for localised solutions

Kenya is one of the key regional partners in Somalia’s stabilisation and reconstruction efforts. Since 2011, al-Shabaab has retaliated by carrying out devastating attacks in Kenya’s frontier counties and against critical infrastructure in its major cities.

My point was that Trump is allegedly the man of peace who never starts conflicts. In his first term he ordered more drone attacks than other presidents and he's not averse to the odd political assassination too.

Not sure why people are getting wound up so much.

It’s at worst casual genocide he’s advocating. Not really the serious stuff. Just needs to create a bit of ‘living room’.
Casual genocide has a nice ring to it. Always thought ethnic cleansing seemed a bit to tiresome. Casual genocide is a bit more relaxed, less formal, like a workshop instead of a meeting.

Cheers - I'm (obviously) not a legal expert.

Is there no scope/possibility to change venue, bring in a sympathetic judge to assume jurisdiction, etc?

If there's a way to bypass the fair and impartial court system - Trump's extremely competent staff will find it.
I think he’s stuck in Washington, nor does he get to pick the judge.
