But apart from all that he was a thoroughly nice boy ;)

Yet he wasn't. If you can say one thing he said which was racist I will go with. He didn't. He was 100% right when it came to EDI and right on other things too, not everything but a lot of it.
I would suggest he was quite clever with his assertions and was careful to always be in a position that what he said was "interpretable" within a wider context, however when you combine a few of his wider known utterances it is difficult to reach any conclusion other than he was racist, for example.
  • “If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified.”
    - He said this in a discussion about airline diversity hiring programs.
  • “We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.”
    - He said this at Turning Point USA’s America Fest, December 2023. He argued it led to what he calls a “permanent DEI-type bureaucracy.”
  • “Martin Luther King Jr. was an awful person … not a good person.”
  • “If we would have said that Joy Reid, Michelle Obama, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks … You do not have the brain processing power to be taken really seriously … You had to go steal a white person’s slot …”
    - He made this remark in reference to these Black women and affirmative action.
  • Regarding George Floyd: “Floyd was a scumbag … unworthy of the attention.” And that the public outcry was “exaggerated … driven by the most corrupt and disingenuous voices that any human being could find.”
  • “Prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people — that’s a fact.”
    - He said this on his show. Critics view it as demeaning and painting Black people as threats.
If you can't see the anti-black sentiment behind these then I suggest you're not looking very hard

I was very much against positive discrimination at one time, but I was naive to situations where racism was present in the workplace. I once took over a business in Keighley, and on my desk when I arrived were 31 job applications from Asian applicants. The business was understaffed and I asked if those people had been invited to interview. I was told that 'we were waiting for the new manager'. When I asked why it was explained that previous managers would not recruit Asian applicants because they thought the members of the club wouldn't like it. We immediately began interviewing, appointing several Asian members of staff, and there were no issues whatsoever. We saw the same issues in county cricket and in other industries, so the need for positive discrimination to redress that imbalance is inevitable, and right.
But not to the detriment of the job, there were people getting in the fire service who had not passed the tests or the standards were shall we say stretched. And know this from experience. I totally agree that certain places were doing as you say but it did go completely the other way, thankfully it was been reigned in as I was leaving.

Again, one lines from often quite lengthy debates. As I said in the first post, he also said it about the NBA and how there shouldn't be EDI to include more white players, because the standards will drop. Nobody has said that is racist to white people have they, because it is just obvious. That was his point with the pilot, if an airline was starting to employ other people based on their ethnicity rather than their skill, he would hope that the black pilot was the best person possible, rather than flying his plane to fill a quota. That was an exaggerated point to prove a point, but the point stands no matter which race or which way round the best person should get the job.

I will be honest, prior to his death I was unsure over him, liked some of what he said, disagreed with others but solely from short edited clips. The full clips of these debates are out there for people to educate themselves fully. I still don't agree with it all, but I know he isn't close to the many things the lunatic lefties level at him.
There you go with the 'educate yourself bollox.
You are full of shit.

Are you genuinely saying this isn't racist?

“Prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people”.

Context is irrelevant for a statement like this so a yes or no will do.

I spent some time watching his podcast and speeches to understand him a bit better. At one level he was actually pretty smart and would utilise dog whistles rather than be explicit in what he meant but I don't see how the above can be contextualised away?

Yeah, but you’re just a loony lefty, taking things out of context and not understanding the real meaning of these quotes.

Again somebody unable to provide one example of him being racist. Somebody who will have never watched any full clip, in context and took a snippet of one instead and made a new truth. He allowed others to express their opinions in an open forum. The last thing you'd label of a nazi as he is often called. Nazis silence people, similar to the treatment he received. Now I agree on the killer and not being convinced of what happened, as per his black FRIEND Candace Owens is unraveling.
Is this a serious point?
"We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s."

I don't support his killing, but anyone who doesn't support an act giving equality with regard to race is, by definition, a racist.

He and you would have never had an opinion when its the other way around though, funny that.

But they aren't racist are they. Saying if he boarded a flight and the pilot was black he would think he hopes he's qualified? As a line that sounds racist, in the context of the whole conversation it is not is it. But you are proving the point, you aren't bothered about facts even when they are explained. You are magnifying one sentence around a lengthy debate. Every point I list are ignored so it is pointless, your mind is made up. I just challenged you to educate yourself.
A Pilot has to be qualified to pilot a plane.

Thick as pig shit.

It was a discussion on DEI

His exact words were, "If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified."

He went on the Megan Kelly podcast shortly afterward to 'clarify' his comments and using weasel words, tried to explain his comments weren't a massive racist dog whistle:

"That's the whole point of what I was saying is that I now look at everything through a hyper-racialized diversity-quota lens because of their massive insistence to try to hit these ridiculous racial hiring quotas. Of course I believe anybody of any skin color can become a qualified pilot."

Not what he said though was it? He said he would question the qualifications of the pilot if they were black.

It was racist and you know it.

Hey @AK45 — I’m on a plane right now; our purser’s name is Diego and he has an accent. Should I ask him if he’s qualified to open the door in case of an emergency?

Imagine Charlie Kirk — or you — having the balls to actually ASK a black pilot if he’s qualified to fly a plane . . . or to ask a woman, any person of colour, an LGTBQ person if they are qualified to do ANY job they have.

Yeah, right.

Fucking ridiculous, your view.

Very gracious of him the bit in bold

Im not a big fan of positive discrimination/affirmative action although I think there are some situations where it's merited.

But you dont get to fly a plane of you're not qualified, to suggest otherwise is undoubtedly racist.

And all these MAGA freaks that go on about DEI hire whenever a woman or ethnic minority has a job are basically saying that person couldn't possibly be there on merit or because they were the best candidate for the job.

Which is also undoubtedly racist.
