President Trump

I'd have given you a like there before the last line. I do care where the chicken in my balti pie has come from, or at least, how its been treated before its neck was wrung to feed me
I worked briefly for a major chicken farm in this country and believe me, you don’t want to know the details. It’s not animals wandering around freely if that’s what’s in your mind. I was actively warned not to ask too many questions.

Read this with caution …

How it compares to the US, I don’t know but food companies will find ways to improve profit wherever they can.

short version, according to the reporting I heard, they're just getting fed up with his incompetence. For example there was an incident when he tweeted about some arrests the FBI was about to make before they actually made them, and some of the people they were targeting managed to flee as a result

Us animal standards are worse than the UK, the treatment of animals for food is fucking disgusting tbh, then again the treatment of humans in food production isn't much better, but billions of lives aren't being lost every year

My comments were only on the subject of chlorinated chicken but you have expanded into a broader range of topics there. My point, responding to someone lightheartedly concerned about the origin of their food, wasn’t to compare the two countries but to highlight that there is almost certainly a level of disgusting treatment in both, so it appears that the argument is more about how much disgust people are willing to stomach.

The fact that many people eat out regularly at restaurants and takeaways and shop at budget supermarkets without questions suggests to me they are not that concerned. Myself? Well I eat more vegetarian dishes these days.
