Yesterday was crappy in Mayo. Much better today. No sign of that heatwave that was supposed to be coming in last week, mind. I don't remember a single "hot" day (25/77) or above this "summer".How’s the weather?
We got washed out of it in Carrick-on-Shannon last weekend.Yesterday was crappy in Mayo. Much better today. No sign of that heatwave that was supposed to be coming in last week, mind. I don't remember a single "hot" day (25/77) or above this "summer".
Carrick is a lovely spot when the weather plays fair. Lots of people sitting outside the Landmark hotel, enjoying their shandies while enjoying the views of the Shannon. It does get busy, though, particularly on a bank holiday weekend, which it was last weekend. We got washed out of it in Carrick-on-Shannon last weekend.
Their regatta was spoiled. Dublin didn’t get that….. until we went home. It’s warm here at the moment.
Just wondering what’s coming our way from the Wesht.
We always go to Cryan’s. They know the wife’s family. Had coffee in the Landmark. A much more professional looking outfit, but Cryans is homely.Carrick is a lovely spot when the weather plays fair. The Landmark is geared up for tourists. And stag/hen parties. Carrick is quite a popular destination for them.We always go to Cryan’s. They know the wife’s family. Had coffee in the Landmark. A much more professional looking outfit, but Cryans is homely.
It’s always been full of hens. Now full of stags too.The Landmark is geared up for tourists. And stag/hen parties. Carrick is quite a popular destination for them.
Culchies, I'm guessing? It’s always been full of hens. Now full of stags too.
It was comical. There was one stag doing the rounds. A gang of about 30 or so auld fellas in their seventies wearing T-shirts saying ‘ One Last Ride’.
I can neither confirm nor deny that.Culchies, I'm guessing?
You can't take them anywhere without them embarrassing you.I can neither confirm nor deny that.
I’ll keep schtum. Or hold my whisht.
