Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

Thinking about knocking my matchday membership on the head for next season.
Got 4 games this season but all single can't sit with my lad.
Spent at least 6 hrs this season queueing on the website to get just 4 games.

I don't enjoy sitting on my own and not being with my lad. Football is about father and son time, enjoying the match together.
This isn't happening this season.
If I'm not enjoying the experience there's no point going.

It's sad to have to admit that the club you have supported for 64yrs, that you now can't get tickets and when you do it's nearly 80quid each.
Wait until the North stand is open, there will be loads of tickets together on sale, all over the ground. (especially if City lose the 115 hearing and are relegated?)

You might even get two Flexi Gold season tickets together next season.

Hold fire until the club announce what the plans are for the expanded North stand season tickets and seating arrangements are, which will probably be part of next seasons season ticket sales.

I dropped my Citizens matchday this year and the wifes too, I had an offer for a flexi gold but paying £150 to guarantee tickets to me is beyond the pale.

Sadly you’re are just one example of many City Legacy fans being priced out by the club and replaced by tourists, day trippers, football fans, and new wealthier City fans.

Sorry to read about that.

It's incredible just how much the prices have gone up considering after the new TV deals were signed there was even rumours that the clubs wouldn't need matchday revenue as much as they did.

Then they went full fleece mode.

Yep; I think I've probably seen my last game. Between flights, hotel accommodation and the actual ticket, you're talking around £300 for a single game. That's impossible to justify. Hotels in particular seem to have gone ridiculously expensive since Covid. Even an average 2* or 3* is over £100 per night now.

I think the hotel prices reflect that the Co op arena has gigs on on same weekend as was on Saturday. If workable look at premier inns or travelodge in chadderton £15 taxi in or supporters bus from hunt lane .

Queued for nearly two hours, got two sat next to each other £78. Just fuck of City I'm not paying those prices.
By the time I add on a day off work ( Monday ) plus travel cost ....nah think this is my last season. Two booked in April and may than I think that's me finished :(
Goodbye

I, like you, live in Kent - I try and get my tickets through the supporters club branch that I belong to - not a Kent branch. To get a ticket for an away game is practically impossible - home, not so bad but I prefer the away games as the atmosphere before and during the games is much better in the away end. A couple of seasons ago, they changed the branch criteria so those who attend branch meetings, contribute to news letters, are lucky enough to get tickets and on the committee earn branch points; up till a few years ago, we had 40 odd members - now it's about 80 with most of the last 40 joining in the last couple of years - JCL's - I've been a member since the branch was formed in 2000. So, if someone can get to a meeting, contribute etc., they accumulate points towards tickets.............I can't get to meetings due to the distance involved and getting there after work. So the legacy fans as you point out, can't get tickets even though a JCL has a better chance of getting one if they contribute to the criteria of earning points. What about my City points that I have earned over the years - it means jack s***. As the branch get so few tickets, it's the same people who get them and manage to go to games. I've supported the club since the late '60's and been going since the early ' 70's much like yourself but we are forgotten about - I probably went to more games in the years we got relegated - '83 to '85 and in the ' Gillingham ' season than I've ever gone - been to some right holes as I'm sure you have. I feel your pain..............

I think need you to be in an Official Supporters Club Branch Gordon. We have lots of members who make their tickets available if they / their families can’t make games. At or below face value.

I do think a brief, hopefully brief, less than dazzling season will mean a few less fickle day trippers. The club will hope that the more loyal fanbase will take up the slack in ticket sales. Maybe too late though as travel, ticket price, televised options have forced the more 'ordinary Joe' away from live football. They need some more 'expansive' thinking re ticket prices otherwise 40,000 attendances are just around the corner for the lesser midweek games.

It’s becoming impossible to purchase two tickets together. I’d imagine most people don’t want to sit on their own

They’ve already priced huge numbers of our local support out, why would those fans come back, knowing they’ll do it again if we become successful again.

I'm in a local OSC, like the Essex member I prefer away games for the same reason.
