Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

No, because the key phrase is “Without the clubs authorisation “

This is why Sportsworld can legally sell tickets for £300 ( They have the clubs permission ) But if I gave my ticket away to a friend for free, I’d technically be breaking the law. ( No permission )
I would think a decent brief would successfully argue that as the club put in place the facility for you to be able to transfer it to a mate, the permission is implied

Just going back to the video.

The club have never mentioned the 'Blue Wall'. That was the fans, and has always been the fans. That's a very important point. A 'Blue Wall' is what the fans have always wanted. It's not what the club offered or ever promised. The club hasn't promised a 'Blue Wall' because the new North stand was never about being a 'Blue Wall', even though the fans desperately wanted it to be that. That was clear and evident in the Planning Application. And the club knows that. The new North stand is first and foremost a commercial stand and a commercial operation designed to increase match day revenue.

Someone with power at the club has to be looking at this and thinking, "We've got to do something about it with an extra 8,000 seats to shift." It's become clear that their entire ticketing plan was to milk the fans as much as possible while we're performing well. There was no thought given to what happens when we are not performing well. It's actually poor organisational management.

We've seen how completely out of his depth Berrada is now that he's at United without a genius for a manager to hold everything together, and I think the rest of our executives are just as mediocre.
Pep in today's press conference, it is a final, we need our people with us from the first minute.

Sorry Pep, have a word with the dickheads who set the ticket prices, because your people can't afford to go to the game.

At least Pep, Soriano, and Txiki have made a few quid extra.

Tast has sold out for Villa?

I wouldn't mind if that was true as long as the rest of the stadium was affordable, sadly it's not. I genuinely worry how many empty seats we will have when the new stand is finished. We still have thousands to sell for tomorrow night. Do they really know what is going on with their fanbase
or do they think because they've been persuaded to keep season tickets the same price that everything is fine and dandy.

At least it's sold out lol.

Honestly the difference a full house getting behind the team can make shouldn't be underestimated.

It could be the difference between qualifying or not qualifying for next season's CL.

And if we don't qualify, the few quid they attempted to rip the fan's off for will be but a drop in the ocean compared to no CL money.

Yes, transferring it through official channels would come under ‘with the club’s permission’ by any reasonable definition.

But theoretically, if I got stuck in work tomorrow night and gave a mate my phone and said.. scan my ST and drop my phone back off on your way home, that would technically be illegal, even if I didn’t charge him a penny.

Get there tomorrow night if you can. It’s a big game for the lads. I’ve just given away 2 tickets. I am going to message my contacts to see if there are any other spares that I can give away.

Come on City

Tim.

If you can, can you message Soriano and Danny Wilson and ask them to drop the price of tickets ASAP to fill the Etihad. And to give Pep (and the players) the full Etihad atmosphere they need and want against Villa.

Only joking mate. Keep up the good work.(before the Ticket Compliance Manager catches up with you)

They know what they are doing. Soriano was the CEO of Barcelona and ran the club. He's also a businessman in his own right. The other board members and the managers below them are very clever people and professionals in their fields of business.

A few thousand empty seats against Leicester, Villa, Wolves and Bournemouth won't sway their resolve in what they are doing is right.

Danny Wilson knows I don’t like him but It’s like steam off his piss lol. I give Soriano more slack because of his honesty.

I will have an adult and U21 / poss 2 adults going for tomorrow night. Only available to people who know me cos I can’t risk dealing with the compliance manager.

Let’s get as many Blues in the ground tomorrow night as possible.

Pretty much the reason I can't see us winning tomorrow.

Going to be about 4000 empty seats and at least a couple thousand regulars not there through pricing and it being a mid-week game.

Exactly.

We got fined £2m for getting on the pitch late FFS!

They need to create a way for fans with tickets to donate them to a community thing where fans who could never afford to go to games can have them for free on the day of the game. I would happily donate my ticket for this if not sold on the exchange (which clearly it isn’t going to at £71 ) when I can’t make it if done through the club. I’m not doing on here though as never know who is buying.

He is often lauded on here too. One upon a time he gave a shit. Now……

I understand he’s done a lot of good things for fans but he looked after the few and not the many.

You have to make your own way to the Eithad after the meal and if I am not mistaken it's a normal seat too, do City just make money for being the booking agent here?

Guessing? The restaurant makes the money. As the part owners of Tast, Soriano, Pep, and Txiki each get a cut of that money. 19 home a games a season. Not a bad little side earner.

Imagine spending £500 on 2 tickets and then having to squeeze onto a Metrolink to the ground to sit in the top row of EL3.
