Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

Most leave university at 21, in England anyway, don’t see why reduced prices should apply to U25 s . That would be my son 24 he’s working, single, no responsibilities and has more spare cash than his older sister and her friends starting families getting mortgages. He attends when he wants but reduced pricing wouldn’t make him attend more.
Plenty of students stay on for four years - longer courses, foundation years or masters. To be fair that’s just your son, plenty of people in that age group don’t work (almost 1 million) either or are on minimum wage jobs.

people in the age bracket of about 21-35 are the age group missing from the etihad. Why not encourage that group to attend more?

Few stay on to 25 ,doctors maybe, sorry I'm not having 24 year olds getting concession prices. Yes some 24 year olds don't have the spare money my son does I would bet so do many 26 year olds don't either. When I was 29 I was strapped I didn't expect the club to reduce prices I accepted at that time I had to give up my season ticket and football.
I would guess most 21 -35 year olds missing aren't missing due to cost, they have other priorities. and like me missing from 29 to 35 then I came back and brought my son.

There's definitely different phases through life, taken by an adult, going with teenage mates, going with mates from the pub, taking elderly mum or dad, taking kids, meeting City fans you've met along the way.
Agree it does change as you move along and club could help all phases but young adults is probably a vulnerable area

Guys in their 20s probs more likely to be sharing finances with a GF today and watch it on TV.
Do think would be good to allow walk ups if possible.Just thinking back to my early 20s normally finished up going but we always had the 2 o'clock another pint or leave for the game decision. People don't always want to plan weeks in advance.

The only constant is you have to get them very young, they have to be shown the light before they can skip to another interest. If this step is missed then the infection wont happen.

So so true. Not everyone's an expert on ticket criteria e.g mums who might want to take the kids, make it cheap and easy with your point in mind to get kids going Loads of people e.g from extended family ask me, how do you get a ticket to take the kids to City.
Occasional fans don't know where to start with it so don't bother.

I hope you're right but I see impending doom. If that age demographic doesn't change then football is fucked in this country and if the money moves from this country to another country then we are doubly fucked.

I kid you not they are going to have to nearly give those 8000 seats away to shift them.
You talk some shit mate

You talk some shit mate

Average ages don't lie, it's a ticking time bomb. If we don't get more nippers in (Not fly by night first timers that are 24) then football is fucked.

Mind you and please don't take this the wrong way, you'd felate the club to the vinegar stroke if it meant it showed you to be the biggest fan ever in the history od City.

Mate ;-)

I.suppose when people say, 'how do we get tickets' they mean I don't know, could you sort it out for me.
Thinking of the top of my head if season card holders could purchase for say up to 4 guests say 6 times a season they could take the strain on this and the club still has a bit of control on who's going.
Maybe best compromise or allow roll ups to people registered as members with a cheap card.
Those are my suggestions.

Maybe possible when the extension opens, but probably not , certainly not now because there aren't very often 4 seats available together, and if it was available to all season ticket holders there wouldn't be enough seats available full stop.

Yes sure, was thinking more when we have the extension seats to play with.
So trying to help out anyone but especially young lads with roll ups, and mums with kids etc with sc holder buying for them.

I was in my forties before I got my first season ticket. I didn’t have anyone able to take me when I was a kid and living too far out of Manchester as the only blue in the village I just never thought I would get one especially when it was only 20000 released.

To be honest I used to only do one or two matches a season because in those days it meant making a phone call to buy one and I just kept leaving it too late.

Tl:Dr It’s never too late.

You'd probably admit to being the exception to the rule mate.

Maybe, but the club must think or be planning that most of those seats will sell. As I posted before though it won't be a bad thing if we do have a slack of 1/2000 seats for a fair few games to give more flexebility and room to grow.

Will be interesting to see if they set any aside.

Yesterday I got talking to a young lad who had travelled from Warsaw to the game. He had paid €75 for his ticket and a further €425 on flights into Leeds that morning, train to Manchester and accommodation that evening in Liverpool so that he was able to catch an early flight back home on Sunday. He had never been to the Etihad previously but was very excited about his first visit. When we arrived at the campus he was immediately told his bag needed to be placed in the storage container close to K entrance. I was embarrassed when we arrived and he was given a receipt for his bag and told to pay an additional £10 for looking after his bag. Nearly everyone who was putting bags into storage was a visitor, and I couldn’t help think, haven’t we had enough from these people.
Sometimes I just think the club can’t resist another revenue stream.

Went to Pembroke Castle last week. They had lockers for bags, put a quid, lock the door take key. End of the day open locker get your quid back !

On what planet is £10 seem reasonable for storing a bag for a couple of hours! £5 tops, they really are the Ryanair of football these days.
