They will be getting higher numbers, I agree with certain checks and I’m sure the Ukrainians wouldn’t mind this as long as they are getting in and not left in a car park in Calais. Just get it done as quickly as possible.No other country in Europe / EU is bothering with visas ..... not even Hungary.

I have no problem with that, I think it’s prudent to know who is coming and set a renewable length of time in which they can stay. Some will end up staying for as long as they like but getting them here safe housed clothed and fed is a priority.Labour have asked for basic biometric checks so that people coming can be adequately managed. Instead we should do what is being proposed for the Ukrainians .... allow them to apply for asylum at a centre overseas .... go through biometric and background checks . ...... but we dont do we? Because as is evidenced by this mess .. there is no way to apply for asylum in the UK from abroad. You actually have to get here (which is why they are crossing the channel on kids toys)
