I agree. If it's a tasteful one, then when you have a car that doesn't change body style every couple of months, a private plate disguises the true age of the car to all but the most knowledgeable. Mine is one of the old style 'P' reg plates with my initials on the end and whilst it's obvious that it's not a 17 year old car, it could be anything from 7 years to 6 weeks old as the current model shape was first released in 2006.
