PROPER City away following Leeds 1978

That was nothing.

Best was at the Leeds and City Elland Road games in the late sixties with Bremner, Charlton, Giles, Hunter,..... Lee, Coleman and Summerbee kicking seven shades of S*** out of each other, whilst the baying Leeds mob in the scratchin' shed looked on.

Happy days.............

I was there.

It always kicked off against Leeds back then and we were no angels. Plenty of Leeds fans got a pasting as the mob 'steamed' them on the way back to the coaches.

There were plenty of Leeds scarves hanging on the Kippax rafters the following week...

yeah i was there lowfield rd side, one of colin bells comeback games and all that, 14000 blues, being locked in the quad after the game whilst bricks and bottles were raining down..oh happy days.

me and 15 Langley blues surrounded by Leeds 100 of em when Don Francis and 30 cool cats came round the corner and scattered the Leeds.............

I went to this game I was 18.
When we left the ground the police hoarded us together and said they
only had enough police to give one police escort, either to the train station
or to the away fans carpark, they asked for a show of hands, the majority
was the carpark so they escorted the lads to the train.
They told us when they open the gates to run down the mainstreet to the car
park.
It was mayhem around 2000 leeds lunatics waiting by the carpark on a hill
throwing bricks at the coaches and cars, fighting everywhere.
We got battered. I had my skyblue MCFC Jumper on , good move that.
covered in blood from head to toe.

I was also there that day , on the Lowfields Road side of the ground ...... a very tense atmosphere to say the least , and pretty daunting too as hundreds of them got on the pitch ........ we had a fantastic following there that day and they kept us in after the game , but it hardly mattered , there were still thousands of Leeds fans milling around afterwards , and the gauntlet 'run' back to the station was not for the faint hearted.

Another bad time there came after Donachie had equalised for us right at the 'death' in a 2-2 draw ........ again it was absolute bedlam outside.

did anyone go to the game i think the year after when cherry scored we lost one nill, it was a dodgy situation inside and outside the ground?

That was the year before, the match where Corrigan made an amazing save from Clarke(?).

Went to both games and we had a huge following (12-15k) at both. It was always mental afterwards at Elland Rd in those days.
was that also the game where lids fans wanted to have ago , but asa and dave watson ran over to the city fans and said no, no and did we listen to them YES WE DID COZ WE ARE CITY
