Well if season ticket holders are happy for match day tickets to be cheaper than their season ticket all fine and dandy. Doubt most would be thinking that's a good idea though try asking them.

If you think so, I'd suggest most fans paying for tickets in the summer disagree. Anyway I've posted the solution that works best and used to work in the past so don't have anything else to say.

Why don't you wait for the discounted seats then? This is not a difficult choice to make.

Because discounted seats would be unusual, and they would normally be night games which I can't do.So if I didn't buy in advance I'd probably not get to the games I wanted. Plus everyone else would maybe just wait for tickets to be discounted. It's not a solution, there is nothing wrong with the old system and the solution I posted.

If everyone waited then that would be a good thing, £71 for a ticket is too much. If you want to guarantee your ticket then go and pay your season ticket which is cheaper than flexi gold or on the day pay.

As a season ticket holder I would have no problem with dropping the prices of tickets, even if lower than my season ticket price. In fact I would welcome it.

I pay my money to have my set seat, sit near the same people and not go through the hassle of booking individual tickets.

If City sold them cheaper, if games weren’t selling out I think it would be fantastic esp if there were deals for local fans, community groups, armed forces, disabled, carers unemployed, kids etc.

What does clamping down on ST holders sharing seats mean? Why and how? I've read nothing about this?

ST holders will be required to attend 10/19 games. The club also appear to be trying to limit transfers to Friends & Family to just 3 individuals. ATM, you can add any number of F&F, which means you can sell your ticket to anybody.
The 78 year old responsible for me becoming a Blue is seriously contemplating jacking it in after this season because the club are attaching more and more conditions to ST holders.
If the aim was to get bums on seats, I could understand to a degree. But it's not, it's all about getting the ticket back so they can sell at exorbitant prices or package the seat up with a corporate offering.

Completely agree. I am happy with my season ticket, happy the price has been frozen for next season (with thanks to the 1894 group and City Matters Alex), happy they’ve not taken my FOC price reduction away, and if they decide to discount late available seats to get the ground full I’m ok with that too; would rather it was full than not

The only thing I would ask is that they drop the counting how many matches you miss as long as you either transfer or exchange your seat. Having to miss games is something I have had to do this season and unless my mobility improves drastically MAY have to do next season.

How does it affect anything as long as the seat is occupied?

Plus just think the person who occupies my seat if I am not there gets the chance to cheer on John Boy for me.
I have one stipulation to the person who has my ticket (it’s usually a youngster under 17) they have to cheer John Boy and they have to tell the opposition manager to get back in their technical area!! (True statement)

Was having the same discussion at the match on Saturday. It’s old school thinking that I need to be paying less than someone who’s paid for a matchday ticket. I’m happy paying what I do regardless, as I’m guaranteed my seat for a set price for every match

It's really disheartening to see a game like last night not absolutely packed, when the only reason it wasn't was that so many people have been priced out. I really struggle to get my head around how empty seats could be more preferable than that.

The club is going through an amazing period in our history, however, as we have seen with other clubs, nothing is guaranteed and it won't last forever. The fans are the lifeblood of the club, the administrators are temporary custodians.

Last night's banner was very poignant. For many of us going to watch City spans multiple generations, its a tradition we want to continue and for many that is now in doubt, because of greed.

It wouldn't bother me if ticket prices were dropped to fill the unsold seat. I pay for my season ticket because I'm happy where I stand. The Directors would never sanction that.

Don't they give school kids tickets away for free on CL nights? Or do the schools pay?

If there are thousands of tickets available offer them away to local fans with supporter numbers and purchase history. Say turn up and get free tickets on the night or day. Place would be rammed first come first served. Complimentaries they used to be called.

Although touts then got hold of them and flogged them outside the North stand.

I posted the below in the Priced Out thread but it belongs here as well:

Yep. I had some dickhead half and half scarf seller of all people having a pop at me last night while I was handing out the protest leaflets near the tram stop. Turns out he's a season ticket holder. It all started off ok when I was showing him the leaflet but his cluelessness came racing to the surface straight away when he saw the match day prices for the Villa game on the leaflet and said that he thought the tickets for Villa fans were capped at £30. I pointed out that these were home end ticket prices. Then he started getting all defensive about the club. Now he's entitled to his opinion like the rest of us but some of his takes were unreal and full of shit.

I asked him whether he thought it was fair that a family of 4 should pay between £228 and £292 for last night's game. His answer was that he's a ST holder who stumps up all his money up front so in that case it absolutely is fair. I said "So how does a working class family from Manchester afford to pay that?" His answer: "Well those ticket prices aren't aimed at those people as they know they can fill it with other fans". To which I asked "So how come there are thousands of unsold tickets for tonight?" Not much of an answer to that one as you can imagine

I asked him what he would do if he was ever priced out. His answer was simply "I'll just accept it and not go".

Then I asked him what he would do if he got affected by the 10 games minumum attendance stipulation for next season and what he would think to it if he broke his leg and had to miss shit loads of games, putting his 10 game minimim attendance in jeopardy: "I'll just get someone to go to the ground, scan my season ticket and then walk back out again". Yep, like fuck you would mate.

I asked him how does a child follow in his/her father's/mother’s footsteps by getting a season ticket when no new season tickets have been issued for years: "Use someone else's season ticket then". Like it's that fucking easy!

I asked him how the likes of Bayern Munich can have thousands of dirt-cheap season tickets without jeopardising all their other revenue streams and still managing to compete at the top table: "What are you bringing those German cunts into it for? It's a 1 team league"......."But Borussia Dortmund and other German clubs sell cheap season tickets too"......"So what"

The icing on the cake was him telling me that the biggest complaints amongst fellow season ticket holders around him were the number of randomers being there, and implied that we should be specifically focusing on that, yet the cheeky **** was there selling half and half scarves to the very type of people that he'd just been slagging off!

Funnily enough, the United supporting half and half scarf seller who was with him put the prick to shame because he actually got the gist of why we were protesting.

Oh, and we're all moaners apparently. We never do anything else but moan and he told me I'd been moaning ever since we left Maine Road. How he could draw that conclusion when he'd only known me for 15 minutes is beyond me!

Something else he said that’s just come to me. Apparently the new North Stand and all the associated facilities aren’t being built with us long-standing fans in mind. And the way he said it implied that he was ok with that!
