Protest v Wolves

Fuck off Parker!

As you say, we’re trying to get rid of the Flexi-Gold charge, and one of the City Matters Reps and the head of the OSC is pushing the Flexi-Gold season tickets to OS members.(only)

Clearly not representing his members, like a Union rep negotiating against the workers

I saw that this morning from our OSC. The club must be loving it from a "divide & rule" perspective. Smacks of we're alright Jack (I'm a full ST holder btw)

He should be fighting for his members to get season tickets not the Flexi gold scam.
This, 100% + he should be on board with the other fan groups and not off doing his own thing. Or at the very least, he shouldn’t be going against what we’re fighting for. I don’t generally like to be critical but it comes across as the actions of a club puppet.

Parker doesn’t represent me, and I’m in the OSC.

I’d have him replaced by an independent OSC member/branch secretary who isn’t close to the club, ASAP.

Parker has a job for life as the head of the OSC. He knows that. Nobody will challenge him within the OSC. Or until HE decides to step down.

I listened to him on Ian chessman’s podcast about a month ago. He’s so reluctant to criticise the club on anything.

The supporters club and Parker don’t represent most city fans in my opinion. All the other groups have done more for city fans in the last few weeks than anything before.

We need a supporters trust. Or something similar to the spirit of shankly group - a group that actually represents the fans

We need a big fuck off whatapp group similar to the small exclusive one they have on here:)

It's incredible that there is no legal framework regarding facial recognition in the UK, looks like any company can use it. You can demand the pictures they take as part of the freedom of information act though.

If EVERYONE put in a request at the same time and every week they'd soon bin it, that being said I would never line up to have my face scanned as a paying customer they could fuck off.
Taking this a stage further, and remembering City's record with IT security (but this can be applied to any club), a club's IT systems would have enough information to satisfy ID fraud if hacked (photo, name, address, DOB, credit/debit card/bank account details, F&F relationships).

If this is really a path clubs start going down, your 2nd paragraph has to be the way forward.

Honestly WTF is going on here - going against everything we’re collectively trying to achieve
if they have bypasssed the citymatters ticketing subgroup it renders it absolutely useless which is a huge disappointment.

kevin didn't go "on strike" with the other citymatters reps , using the excuse that dialogue was the way forward and also that if the club wanted to discuss via the ticketing subgroup the osc should be part of it. citymatters reps are all back now and they have been bypassed, instead it's individual chats with the osc. so there's no dialogue, it's facilitating flexi gold on behalf of the club.

The further concourse protest against Wolves is hugely important in my view. The timing is perfect after the swathes of empty seats against Villa and the inability to shift the Wembley allocation. Even the wannabe ticket touts running the show at City must now be realising that there isn’t a limitless pool of day trippers to pick up the slack at top dollar prices, and with a new stand to fill as well. Another really visible protest is exactly what is needed, and the media will be all over it.

The only way the directors are going to fill those extra 8000 seats part way through next season is by selling the seats as cheaply as they are prepared to do, which probably won't be cheap enough, or by selling half-season, season tickets, with the guarantee they will be full season, season tickets, the following season. Nobody in their right mind is going to pay £70+ for a ticket in the middle of winter, rumoured time the stand will be finished, and if, a big if, City are not in the CL, and aren't in the title race. Not to mention a possible relegation to the Championship or a massive points deduction if City lose the 115 case against Masters and the PL. Again, all hypothetical atm, but some of that could happen.

Now we've hit renewal season, one thing I would suggest to anyone who is unhappy about the way things are moving is

...don't pay the £50 Platinum Tax.

Unless you really need it to keep up with the high points people, what is the point? Just more money they're taking off us for nothing.

If you've got in the habit of paying it, why not consider donating the £50 to the MCFC Foodbank instead?

I think the club see the tax as a nice little earner, so it might have some impact along with the other demonstrations.

Definitely agree with that. I always have and every year I wonder why the fuck I have. Absolutely no point in it.

Good call on the foodbank too.

I’d love to know how many still pay for this.

Thinking back, all of this started with the Platinum Tax. I initially fell for that but came out of it after a few seasons when I realised that the extra points I'd paid for were still leaving me increasingly lagging behind and no longer qualifying for away tickets. It was money down the drain, as my Gold Season Ticket with 'standard points' has since always enabled me to get a seat of my choice for Cup Finals. I was by no means alone in that respect.
It was the first of City's nice little earners, ripping us off bit by bit, and the divide between Board and Fans has widened year upon year, gradually now reaching breaking point. It's rather sad that it's come down to this.

I can't speak for any other City fan but I absorbed the continual season ticket price rises and loyalty points gimmicks as I honestly thought it would all stop eventually. But rather than stopping, or at least settling down for a few seasons, it has got worse and worse. Flexi-Gold charge scam, etc.

Even after the first very well supported protest by the fans the directors still wanted another season ticket price increase for next season, which was blocked by the City Matters Reps. Now we have the new attend 10 home games or you will lose your season ticket ultimatum. Almost every season the directors bring in something new and on purpose to test the fans resolve.

The directors have tested my resolve too far. By coming out of all 3 cup schemes I've will save a few hundred pounds that will go towards my new season ticket.
