Protest v Wolves

TONGUE IN CHEEK ALERT:
Have 1894 launched a war against the club?

Don't think so mate. Chatting with them Thursday about Wembley display. Relationships still exists at all levels
You know the old saying..... keep your friends close your enemies closer? Is that what 1894 are doing with the club if they are not actually declaring a war...... Mmmmmmmm as they say h'interesting... ;-) :-)

I think with the prices the club declared war on the fans actually we did a survey over 5k responses and 2k individual comments from Blues all past on they can't say they weren't warned

Not sure you picked up on the warning in Bold but hey ho not everyone has my daft sense of humour. :-)
They're fighting for the future supporters ......real fans not rich band wagon jumping tourists.

The kids and grandkids of us FOC's.

Fans like you and me do ok as we are on concessions and have season tickets.

If you haven't tough shit .

Agree with this 100%. Those who are in “I’m alright” camp (including myself) need to have a good think what going to the match will be like in the future, if the club persist with prioritising their target market of new fans, with money to spend at the expense of local and young fans who don’t currently have season tickets. The demographic of match going fans will continue to change at pace, atmosphere will suffer further, we’ll see more away supporters and half and half scarves in our own end, we’ll have more light shows and embarrassing match day announcers. Basically the theme park that Soriano dreams of.

There’s a huge bigger picture here which everyone needs to think about.

Do 1894 actually have a membership database anymore which might be a stronger way to do things - links dont work and the website doesn’t exist anymore.

Rather than a protest I'd love to see a banner with a mock up of the new stand done so it appears half empty, with the heading 'Is this what you want?'.

That new stand is going to look shit half filled. The club don't seem to be arsed about that though, sadly.

Pep mentioned needing support from minute one so those who choose not to do it will need to make some noise until those that do return to their seats!

Wouldn't a better approach be to tell them if they won't support their hardcore fans then you wom't do anything to improve the atmosphere? On the one hand you're in the forefront of the protests yet on the other hand you're doing their job for them. Tell them if they want displays, they can pay for them from all the money they've made from flexi-gold and inflated match-day prices.

Aren't you doing exactly the same as you've criticised Kevin Parker for doing?

And where in any of my posts did I say anything that made you think I was not on their side?
As I have this season, brought my Canadian Granddaughter, a Blue from birth with parents who had season cards before they emigrated and a Lancastrian Great grandson to matches I am trying to do my bit for the future! I’m not sure why you are annoyed with me? I apologise if I have upset you but even when I am not able to attend matches I make sure that my seat is taken by a true Blue.
I am sincerely sorry to have upset anyone that was not my intention. I was just, in my (obviously) clumsy way trying to lighten the gloom.
Sorry. :-(

Can’t help but be really disappointed with pep’s comments this afternoon
I thought he was very diplomatic. He is employed by the club so he is not going to feed into the media frenzy to get him to criticise openly. He loves the fans so he is not going to criticise us either. Very diplomatic and enigmatic I felt.
Just my humble opinion,

Lol.

Staying on the concourse is exactly that.

We're doing tifos for the fan base and trying to improve the atmosphere and conditions for the whole fan base.

We don't do things just for our own membership.

Nor have we publicly "criticised" kevin, who used the main osc account to put his own personal view over, as you well know it was the other way round, why would we need to get angry about anything the fans are on our side.

That being said Kevin is someone I have known for 25 years. We don't tell them what to do and we wouldn't expect him to tell us what to do.

We can agree to disagree without falling out

We have excellent relationships with people at the club at all levels loads of people in the club like what we do

It's a couple of people in the boardroom as you know who block everything. We don't usually deal with them.

As I said yesterday you are not an elected member of Citymatters anymore but still in the whatsapp group. I also respect you Col but there's a touch of uncle Albert from only fools and horses talking about the war every time you mention citymatters.

You are not in it anymore. You don't need to be their spokesperson.

To quote Dick Emery "oh you are awful .. but I like you"

You read it wrong.....not annoyed in the slightest with you now or ever. Barmy get.

He was only ever going to remain diplomatic. No way was he going to renege on his relationship with the club publicly in a press conference and watch the press write about a wedge being placed between the club and fans with him in the middle.

The problem with that letter that was sent to him was that whilst the intentions are noble and of great concern, we can't expect Pep to pick a side.

He will never go against the club, his employers, the ones paying him 25m. Especially after this season where most clubs would have sacked him in Decemeber.

We certainly agree about it being a couple of very senior figures in the club hierarchy who are the problem, and that from Danny Wilson down, there are many people who want the best for the fan base, including 1894 of course.

The fact is that CM are the body dealing directly with the club on ticketing matters. There's also a clear role for 1894 as a fan body that isn't quite so enmeshed with the club, as CM and OSC are. Using mass protest alongside face-to-face discussions is a very legitimate strategy and I'll be on the concourse tomorrow evening. There's little doubt that when CM does sit down with City, as they will be doing later, the protests will have had an impact in some way. Maybe not as much as people think but maybe they have had a major impact. I still have the cynical view that the club were always going to freeze prices for a season, and that they made a strategic error saying they were planning to increase them.

My point is that effective coordination, rather than working in silos, is likely to have a bigger impact on the club. I've been a senior union negotiator in a scenario where we represented three distinct groups. But we went in with the support of all those groups, as we'd agreed a position between us beforehand, rather than giving the company an opportunity to see one or other group wasn't in sync with the other groups.
