Protest v Wolves

They think they are bailing out of a sinking ship protest after the directors made a few concession with whistles and bells attached to them. They really are naive if they think it is a win for the fans

Repeated success has distracted most fans from the simple fact that the City Group has little or no interest in 'traditional' support. They're hard businessmen, not football people - They're only in it for the money and they'll aim to milk every penny out of whoever buys a ticket... The 'fan experience'.

The owners have paid no more than lip-service to local fan issues since they bought the club. I honestly don't think they'll do anything more than that even when the local fanbase declines as people die off or stop going when it becomes too expensive. Football tourists will fill the gaps.

It's the price of success. Traditional football died in 1992 and people still haven't woken up to that.

I'll still be protesting. Cost of kids tickets and match ticket prices aren't anywhere near good enough.

Plus the new stipulations regarding season tickets were too harsh and published without speaking to the fan groups.

The £150 Flexi Gold fee is still there too.
The £150 fee isn’t really there anymore the more games you go to the more you get back as the minimum games on a FG is 10 games all will get back between £75 and £150 of it.

If it was 'ALWAYS' the directors intention to release new season tickets (only 500 Flexi-Gold initially), why didn't the directors announce that months or weeks ago, or when the directors announced a season ticket price freeze after the previous City Matters meeting? Why!? Why wait just before tonight's 2nd protest to announce that? The directors are playing the fans. The directors are feeding the fans scraps, bit by bit, trying to placate the fans.
Firstly I support the basis of your opinions, I should say that Danny Wilson told in 2024 us that the club would release new season tickets when the North Stand opened. Furthermore, the Flex tickets have only come about because there are a large number of season ticket holders that are no shows and some that never turn up. I think the flex idea is a poor substitute unless it’s refined.

Yes I’ve read the statement. It doesn’t specifically say 4,000 new season tickets. Please quote that exact phrase please..Predominantly GA seating could be half season tickets, half flexi gold tickets.

It also doesn’t say if those season tickets in the north stand will be mainly from relocations or not.
It's implied. The majority of the capacity increase gives > 4,000

Its is a win is it a full win ,no but these things rarely go all one way. It's up people to do what they want but personally think any protest should wait and see what City Matters report

Fair enough.

Let’s take next season into isolation.

A season ticket price freeze. I agree, welcomed.

But.

The directors wanted to increase the season ticket prices even after the fans protested. That was confirmed by CMR. CMR refused. The club backtracked and agreed a season ticket price freeze. Maybe the club planned that tactic all along? We’ll never know.

No mention of match day ticket price reductions still.

No mention of the ticket touting partners, still. The club were and are never going to back down on that.

The £150 and £75 Flexi-Gold season ticket scam charges remain unchanged.

The 10 match must attend ultimatum or lose your season ticket still remains. That was brought in by the club on the QT. CMR weren’t consulted about that.

The 16 match must attend rule upped from 14 matches was brought in. Were CMR consulted about that?

500 new Flexi-Gold season tickets next season. Welcomed. Minus the general season ticket drop off at the end of this season. Why not 1000 or 2000 Flexi-Gold season tickets next season? Why only 500? Our season tickets holders have dropped from 40,000 to 37,000.(according to the club)

Amongst all of that there’s the odd genuine win for the fans next seaon.

The following season.

An extra 8000 seats to fill on NSL2, so the directors had no choice but to offer 4000 Fkexi-Gold season tickets to fill half of those 8000 extra seats.

All,of these concessions by the club, if you really want to call them that could have been done months ago without all theses MR meetings and fan protests.

If the fans wouldn’t have protested, I doubt any or most of those concessions by the directors would have been made.

How many Flexi-Gold season ticket holders don’t turn up? Many on here have missed their Flexi-Gold purchase email this season. Many Flexi-Gold season ticket holders don’t turn up due to personal issues. Don’t get sucked into the belief that it’s only general season ticket holders that don’t turn up.

I’d wager that more seats remain empty due to the clubs match day ticket prices than season tickets holders not turning up.

If the protest was about pricing, I'd still get behind it. But it's not. It's 6 minutes to signify season tickets not being released for 6 years. And they now have been. So why continue to protest?
Can only refer to what I said earlier, people react to what they care about unfortunately.

6 minutes is symbolic. Page 1. Post 1. Season tickets and match day prices. 1 has been improved massively from what we thought. 1 hasn't.

Nobody needs to justify their stance whether they do or don't protest in my opinion. I was just stating an observation about human behaviour really. I just think we have the potential to influence change and it'll be missed if people don't work together, but I get it.

There's no mention of match day prices in the first post - I've added the text below. It says new season cards and the club has confirmed there will be some. We can all say we want more season tickets, or add in other grumbles, but the original stance was more season tickets or there will be a protest.

To hold a protest now is likely to weaken the position of the groups trying to get change, as they're forced the club to do something, so you can't then add extra requests.

I support the call for cheaper match day tickets, more season tickets, getting rid of corporate touts and sorting out the 10 & 16 rules, which will cause issues for many, including my own lad who is unlikely to be able to get back from uni for 10 games, but I'm not now going to protest about it tonight, as the club has done what was asked in regard to the protest.

wolves - 6 min concourse protest to highlight 6 years without any new full season cards being released should the club not announce any new ones. if you take your seat as normal we ask you to remain silent.

both protests can be rescinded in the event of good news from the club, right up until kick off time on 2nd may.

Implied, but not committed. Implications count for nothing.

For a brief period we have Soriano on the defensive, caught between Mansour/ Khaldoon and the fans. Every other time, Soriano controls the narrative given to Mansour/Khaldoon.

The worst thing that can happen is that the protests stop, Soriano gives the message to Mansour/Khaldoon that the fans are happy and then there have to be more protests in another six months. Momentum and initiative lost.

Soriano is feeling the pressure now. It would be a mistake let him regain the initiative with a cancelled or an unsuccessful protest, imho.

330 seats remain unsold just on SSL3.

I’m not counting the rest of the blocks all over the ground.

Does this change minds??

As the post below yours says, there was no mention of ticket prices for this protest. That's been added on as the original point of the protest now can't really be protested about so it's literally protesting for protesting sake.

If it's now about pricing, why 6 minutes?
If a stranger asked you why 6 previously, you could say no season tickets for 6 years so that would make sense. If it's now about pricing, 6 minutes is a strange arbitrary number. If it's about £71 pricing, leave on 71 minutes as that would then actually make sense.

All this nonsense could easily be resolved, if not sold out by 10am on match day, sell remaining tickets on a first come, first served basis, and reduce the price the nearer to kick-off.

I've clarified this with City Matters.

They will be additional season tickets, not just for relocations. Initially they'll be offered to anyone relocating as FG but, if used for the requisite number of games, will convert to a standard ST.

Bit confused by this line. So if somebody relocates to North Stand that's already on a Gold it is reduced to a FG?

Yes the ridiculously high prices and pissing off the fans is really going well for the halfwits making these decisions eh? Thousands of empty seats at our last three home games and five thousand unsold tickets for the semi final. Well done!
