When things were really bad under Swales and Forward with Franny and the OSC supported Swales an unofficial club was formed and that did reach anywhere need those levels
 
Maybe we should start an FC utd type club up. You know, 3pm kick offs, half empty stadiums, weak as piss beer and cheaper tickets.

Maybe along the way we'll meet city after we get relegated to the dog and duck burger King league.

Before the takeover we were the only fabric of the club. Without our special fanbase we wouldn’t be here now. However the club now is a lot bigger than us but I do think they have disenfranchised us, especially over the last 2 or 3 years.

The away support is stupendous but it is being eroded by the leaking off of so many tickets. At home we are seeing season tickets not replaced as older Blues die or stop going. More and more day trippers.

I spent decades protesting against Swales, I detested the man, then a few years wanting Franny out. This is a different sort of problem but it is one that should be aired. What really pissed me off was the shambles of Istanbul and the misery that thousands faced due to the deliberate ineptitude of UEFA and not one word in support of us from the club. I had my 2 teenage kids with me that night and the difficulties before and after the match were shocking and the lack of acknowledgement from the club has irreparably tarnished my opinion of the senior execs at the club.

So yes I’d protest but not a clue how.

Undoubtedly, City are simply following the inevitable business trail in maximising profit & growth similar to probably all clubs in the top leagues. However, doesn't mean it should be accepted. If there's no 'push-back' the club quite rightly will continue on this path & keep pushing for even larger increases in the future. Yes, compared to the other top 6 clubs we represent pretty good value from a ST POV but I do think the club are now trying to play catch-up. Do they really need to in the grand scheme of things regarding tv, sponsorship & prize money dwarfing match day income. Of course its a growth area but at what price. The revenue generated will never surpass the former.

Been spending time in Germany for work & got chatting with a few football fans over there who are amazed how generally UK football supporters can afford season tickets in the Premier League in this climate & continue to live a satisfactory life. A good old joke of is everyone simply paying for everything on credit. A 50+1 model may not be for everyone but it certainly assisted most German football fans in putting their foot down on & slowing the rate of increase match day prices their clubs would trying to implement especially during the COVID period. Unfortunately, it comes at an expense of lack of football competitiveness existing in the Bundesliga due to the bigger & larger established clubs maintaining this advantage knowing large investments into the lesser clubs are unlikely to occur without a decrease of fan ownership. However, most fans are willing to accept this as culturally it seems they put more weight on maintaining a strong fan & social culture than winning trophies & making matches more accessible & feasible to the general public. Most of the fans who don't follow Bayern Munich hate them, but accept them being top dogs on the football field with the current model which individually serves them better to have a drink or two with their mates during the weekend without breaking the bank rather than 'cashing-out' & following the money-laden English Premiership model.

Don't agree with walking out as a protest & I doubt Pep has any idea what's going on regarding ticket prices & nor should he since its not his remit. I don't even think Soriano has a clue about the impact these prices increases have on the general fans. Its got be an exec or manager who has come up with these initiatives who has most likely been set an objective by his/her boss to increase match day revenue in line with other comparable clubs. Tbf, to make any sort of impact there probably has to be a banner directed at Soriano during a prime time game..only then will it snowball.You single someone out & they are immediately in the spotlight. He may or may not have been responsible but he sure can do something about it. Pep & others won't like it & most likely will cause a distraction on the field but then again just like rail strikes its not meant to be or designed to be convenient.

Going down the consultative route has frankly got us no where, not only on this issue but others such as the Istanbul fiasco. Like others I'm amazed there wasn't a fatality out there. Even after the comprehensive & well structured report submitted by @Alex - City Matters. What was even more disappointing & shows the club's complete disengagement with all fans (legacy & every Blue) is the lack of a response or even acknowledgement on this subject.
 
Silence is golden.

Everyone will still go to the matches, especially with a title run in looming, so there’s little point in trying to organise a boycott or a walkout, bar the last 10 minutes, which happens anyway. But a silent protest is doable. Then again, Pep and the club might think nothing off it as silence and no atmosphere is apparently the norm at the Etihad on a match day.

Look! I’m not saying there shouldn’t be a protest because there should be a protest. I’d be up for it. But the club wouldn’t give a fuck. They’ve long gone past caring about what the fans think and want. Us legacy fans are expendable. Tourists and day trippers are the future Legacy fans. Ask Khaldoon, Soriano and Danny Wilson about that, they will confirm it.

Not that I don't disagree with the points made by the OP.
I would add the street parking fiasco into the mix, it's seems the club were all for it and didn't bother to tell us much about it either.
 
Protest are a thing of the past anyway! It’s not like the 90’s when we would all stand outside the main stand chanting swails out after another bad defeat! We had no mobile phones then and so it was the only way you could vent you anger at bad results or bad management! It’s more done through social media now! It carries more weight! But I ain’t protesting! It’s the price of success! You can’t have your cake and eat it in my opinion

The cake won’t last forever. We’ll be left with crumbs then. Yet the new cakes will be more expensive than ever.

When Pep, the best cake baker ever has gone, who’s going to bake the award winning trophy cakes then?
 
How much is the cheapest season ticket we do ? £450, £500?

Its over 500 for the cheapest season ticket at Sheffield Wednesday or Middlesbrough.

League 1 - Shrewsbury Town £475 !

Yes its expensive but relative to the price of other forms of entertainment, concerts, going to the pub, cinema its not massively out of step.
 
I’ve given Kevin Parker some stick for staying quiet in the past on issues that affect City fans. But fair play to him for putting his name to this City Matters Reps statement along with the most of other City Matters Reps.
