Would have thought it was an immediate resignation issue.
It’s quite difficult for a PM to quit until there’s good reason to believe that the next in line can form a government. The priority for the palace is to ensure the continuing day to day functioning of H M’s Government. There always has to be a PM. The palace would be very reluctant for the Queen to appoint a new PM who might be immediately brought down.

Exactly. It’s bad enough we are heading straight down the shiter, but at least stay in fucking tune. There were so many opportunities for a three level harmony but they were lost in the monotone of tone deaf torture.

I give up.
 
May thought about it too apparently but decided it was “un-Conservative” and against the principles of the party.
