Nice to see a thread like this. I think we're too good to start moaning about, we were knocked out by a shitty team in shitty circumstances and if nothing else the team will have learnt how to deal with that for next time.

Next year will be tougher I think but the team will get better too, we're ahead of the curve and I dont see us slipping

It's a cup competition. This time tomorrow, we could realistically be looking at a semi-final lineup between the 4th team in the Premier League, the 4th team in Serie A, the 4th team in La Liga, and the 7th team in La Liga. That's the nature of cup competitions. Bad luck, dodgy decisions, or simply a team that happens to have the perfect combination of players and tactics to attack your weaknesses can knock you out, even when they're not as good overall. That's why the winner of the CL more often than not doesn't win their own domestic league in the same season, and why you get situations like Greece winning the European Championship. Let's be honest, we're basically out because we were terrible for 30 minutes of one game. Everything else comes from us trying to make up for that. We lost today because we were forced to chase the game against a very good counter-attacking team.

This is so true. Of course not one of us isn't gutted or deflated after the last weeks events and perhaps my age comes into it, but I'll never have the sense of entitlement that many rags, dipper, and Arsenal fans have, no matter how good we are! The dippers don't even have a recent successes to back up their claims of greatness! It's arrogant to just assume we had no god given right to win any of the games over the last week but the bigger picture is the season as a whole surely? I've got rags all over social media revelling in our "failure" in a way that could only be rivalled by the archetypal "bitter blue" back in the day. For me that's a mark of how far we've come. They don't want us jeopardising the legacy of their great sides of the past - do they fuck! Instead they'll revel in the fact that the quad wasn't achieved or when Will Griggs is on fire! You couldn't make this shit up but all they have these days is 20 times. We need to pick ourselves up fast and dust ourselves down now for the run in. Get the league won and look forward to a productive summer and to going again next season!

Yep you've explained that really well, they're just shitting it that we have a foundation that will breed success for years to come and jeopardise they're God given right to glory- its all bullshit. If they think that this side isn't as good as what they've proved they are, despite 1 bad week, they're gonna get a shock next year when Pep tweeks what he has to.

At the end of the day, we’ve been knocked out a cup competition, just like we did against Wigan. Barca got knocked out tonight by Roma, the third best team in Italy. Barca are undeafeated all season.

We’ve got a very young squad, we will have our luck in this competition in the coming years. We’re only going to get better. We could have made a proper game of that in the second half if that Sane goal wasn’t disallowed.

Liverpool and United fans can gloat all they want tonight, but they’ve both got some work to do before lifting any silverware at the end of the season. We’ve got one trophy in the bag and another one on the way.

Get fucked to all the knobs that want to criticise this City side because this season has been the best season I’ve ever seen from a City side. Roll on the title and roll on next season, we’re going to be the top team in England for years to come.
