Ps5 or Xbox series

Price and availability of the Series X is not good. But you can get the Series S. With Game Pass, it's cheap as chips. Ridiculous value. They even do a pay monthly deal with Game Pass Premium that includes the console, and EA Play, 21 quid a month.

It'd be ideal for use with a 1440p monitor or a good old 1080p TV, but it'll be fine on a 4k TV - as long as you don't spend too long looking at the Series X, you'd hardly notice the difference.

xbox seems to be more readily available than PS5 but still rare. Very.co.uk seems to get a steady supply.

but yep, unless you want a disk drive and 4K the S is fine.

Got a series X from Game in Denton last week (had to buy it bundled with a play and charge kit, thumb grips and a pad skin that took the price to £490. Chose Xbox because despite having a ps pro already all my kids have xbox ones, so it made sense for continuity of games they could play.

My lad says that Fifa plays like a different game (i wasn't good enough at it to notice much difference).

After owning it a week it has made me question, did I need to get it so soon? it is after all atm a wee touch up a wee expandipoo on what we already had.

* First console i have bought new that didn't have a game bundled with it at a pricepoint that it should really have one

* seems like it has been developed in isolation from game developers

* the loads times are good enough that i'm considering playing Resident Evil 1

Microsoft always make a loss on the console units. The lack of game bundles is probably due to the lack of new games, and of course with the scarcityat the moment they don't need to drum up business.

Probably more to do with them pushing gamespass over actual physical games, so there are a ton of bundles with gamespass added. I got my series x on the 2 year free credit, bundled with 2 years of gamespass, that's more what they want to push. (Pleased with it tbh, 24 monthly payments that add up only to the price of the console and gamespass, no extra like monthly normally charges)

Also a lot easier to get that way as scalpers don't want to pay that way

Having just found out my fave games are not coming to the ps5 i now have a dilemma which is do I buy ps5 or Xbox series . Anyone got any good advice for his ? Cheers

Just get a Series X. It’s actually more powerful than the PS5.

They have their own Netflix like system but with games called Gamepass where you can play from hundreds of games for just a tenner a month.

Microsoft put all the games they own on to Gamepass on release day as well.

The main difference I have noticed is load times on the Series X. On games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 there used to be about a 10 second delay moving from the open world into a city. With the series X it’s instant. Likewise being able to switch instantly with no loading time to previously launched games is great.
Yes some games have had a graphics work over but you will be hard pressed to notice any difference without looking very carefully.
Increase frame rates also are a positive on Forza for instance and some FPS but not massively. The days of major steps have gone and it’s all incremental gains.

Sony are the same. never make any profit on Hardware, they make it back with PS+ and game sales. same way MS will with gamepass and game sales.

that being said, Gamepass and PS+ are awful for game developers.

Even cheaper way to get gamepass, load up your account with xbox live gold and then upgrade to gamepass. It's limited to 36 months worth of credit (including any months you get with the upgrade). If you have used game pass before it will cost you £10.99 to upgrade. You can find xbox gold digital codes on places like cdkeys.
