PSG (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Anyone who wants to get rid of the greatest manager in the game, after our first bad half-season in seven years, needs to give their head a wobble. He’s not immune from criticism, but be careful what you wish for. The idea that a new manager is going to come in and instantly resolve the many problems we face, is fanciful at best. I don’t think some realise just how good we’ve had it in recent years. The rebuild is under way but it’s going to require a fair bit of patience.
It seems patience is in short supply on Bluemoon. Pep has earned the right to rebuild this team.

It's like the Charlton fans wanting rid of Curbishley all them years ago because they thought that he'd taken them as far as he could in the PL, how did that go Addicks?

No sentiment for me.
Out-Ederson, Akanji, Stones,Walker,Rico,Gundogan,Kovacic,Bernardo, KDB, Phillips, Nunes, Grealish
Keep - Ake, Ortega, Dias, Gvardiol, Bobb ,Savio, Rodri, Doku, Haaland, Foden, O'reilly, Mcatee.
New- Kusanov, Reis, Marmoush

Need-Left back, Right back, centre half , 2 x defensive midfielders, 1 x attacking midfielder

Don't think this is going to be a quick process peeps.
Agree

I cannot believe Edersons form of late . His distribution was terrible last night and if I had to hazard a guess I would say he doesn’t want to be here anymore. Constantly giving the ball back to PSG and his shot stopping is questionable.Rico is just not big or strong enough for the level he’s playing at and Ilkay is done unfortunately
Gundo was done at Barca else we wouldn't of got him back. What a sad transfer that was, bringing someone back who had been let go because he asked for a move.

I'd like to see the age range of these inpatient fans.
I am 78 years old and really do not mind us having a bang average season as what I have witnessed in recent years was beyond my wildest dreams when we dropped into the 3rd tier of English football.

Roll on the 40pts.

I am unsure why people are surprised when the same players, in the same roles, with the same tactics keep making the same style of mistakes. This season is going to be up and down until the end of the season. Hopefully with new blood and a number 6 coming in more consistency will take place, as it stands though it won't. Some of that blame is on Pep, if he is the greatest manager going he needs to adapt and innovate. Can't keep doing the same things and expect different results. He obviously shouldn't be sacked but he has questions he needs to answer. Our game management has been horrendous from winning positions.

We got battered from start to finish last night, going 2 up was the only big surprise for me, we got what we deserved which was nothing.

inn CL we are back in the territory what Pep liked to leave behind remember when we lost to Monaco, Spurs and Lyon in CL with him.

we now do that in much earlier stage tho not in the lat 16s or QFs.

hope its temporary for this season but no guarantee. not even a guarantee we are back to CL next season. could be long Thursday nights as well.

serious wake up need for the squad and Pep too, but here is the issue most are in brutal shit form fitness wise. unfit or injured thats the two options for our players currently. they cant play wel and win against any other team that has a decent squad.

did we beat any side in PL that finished top8 last season or anyone in CL thats not Bratislava or Prague with 1/10th of our revenue?
only one team like that we beat, Chelsea in round number of PL. nobody since then like that. not even the awful rags in their current crisis.

this is bad, real bad and with next set of fixtures about to get even worse.

Brugge can cause us problems and if they do its a serious hit to our CL revenues to exit at this stage. Soriano must be looking at the numbers already lost, Liverpool with 7 wins out of 7 in CL must be already close to 10m higher prizes compared to our 2-2-3 record. and that could be 30-40-50m difference if they get to finals and we exit here.
(fucking hell dippers conceded 2 goals in 7 games only. we conceded 13...)

We should take all the criticism on the chin, most of it is justified, but McNulty on the BBC was particularly brutal. Tbf he has written fairly about us in the past, but apparently everyone at the club (presumably ground staff and dinner ladies and the under8's team) should be ashamed of themselves. He couldn't hold it in any longer, I suppose.

He was rubbish.

The keeper position has highlighted how muddled the thinking has been this season.

On my part it’s frustration, I think. Frustration because again, we lost a two goal cushion. As we have done a few times this season. Seeing us not being able to match teams for energy when it was only 18 months ago we were producing a display when it mattered most aka against Real Madrid and the team really wasn’t very different than that team last night, if I’m not very much mistaken.

Dreamland going 1 and then 2 nil up.

But we were very lucky to be even at that stage.

What isn't good enough is the complete collapse.

Nunes is not a RB, he shouldnt of been playing there and you could see KDB annoyed with him.

Ederson and his F***** distribution was shocking.

Both Kovacic & Phil Foden losing the ball just outside the box leading to goals, frustating.

Rico unfortunately is just not good enough, shows promise but nope. Dias injured again. great.

Really hope we sort this out now. Switched it off at 80 mins, plus how negative was the TNT commentary last night?

Glad i dont pay for it. Buzzing over PSG spending millions, but then we get slated for 'buying' or having an 'expensive' team.
