PSG Away Ticket details - Update now 2,200 tickets available

Also for some, may be money is tight (now married with kids etc) . No longer single attending all the games. It ensures they will not fall downthe pecking order if and when they start going again
Yes agreed.

I don't the 'points whore' is the only reason this is struggling though, there's quite a few other factors on top for me.

Price.
It being PSG - I don't think many fancy us to get anything (away or home).
The terrorist threat is still significant, and this is a high profile game (even if some City fans don't think so).
The ticket pick up situation.
Their ultras don't have the best reputation either.

I think that the SC branches not having their applications reduced (to my knowledge at least) is significant though, despite what some say, there is a significant amount of 'point whoring' going there, and it wasn't an option here, if you bought, you paid, and you couldn't pass it on, so most didn't buy. Names on tickets is fine, and has been threatened many times before, only not to happen, and even when it has happened, most weren't checked anyway.

I honestly don't believe the way we're playing, price of the ticket or recent terrorist threats will have put many off attending this fixture.

The fact that you have to virtually prove that you've travelled to actually attend the game will be the main reason behind the slow sales.

Proof of travel documents have been needed in order to get your caps (loyalty points) with England for at least 10 years and it's about time premier league clubs made it fair.

Bet there's loads of dads with their lads and younger supporters who are pretty happy with the result of what city have done here.

Hope it stays this way.

Overjoyed to be honest, taking my 15 year old to his second European trip now after getting a ticket a few hours ago. bit annoyed that I have to pay £71 quid for it !

I'm slightly bemused by this discussion about the wristband collection being a way of stopping 'points whores'

I've got 3 tickets now for next week and find this ticket band collection a real inconvenience as it's a day trip, but it's not that that's stopping people going. It's the matching of tickets to passports that stops a lot of this unfair redistribution of tickets. I also went to Juventus in November and all 4 of us (kids as well) had the names on the tickets checked to our passports at the turnstile. City didn't even sell out our allocation. Same at Roma, although the passport check was only threatened but not carried out there.

So in future, I'm very much in favour of names on tickets for European matches, but not this irritating wristband collection idea. Hopefully, it's only a one off due to the current situation there.

Now we just need a fairer distribution of tickets for domestic matches. Names on tickets to ID would unfortunately just not be practical for English games, but ticket/loyalty points only and the removal of tickets to supporters clubs would be a start.

Finally, who at City thought the tickets would sell out at 15,000 points. It would have been really useful to plan ahead if I'd have known I'd be able to get my kids some tickets.
They didnt think it would sell out at 15000,but they have to start somewhere, they split it down into groups,so that they dont get inundated with callers.
Which would have happened if they had opened it up at 6000 points
Perhaps if they had known, what we know now, they could have started lower.

Does anybody have an idea on whether or not they will go on sale for non Uefa cup scheme ticket holders? Season ticket with 7000 points but not on cup scheme and hoping on a ticket!

System has worked great. Points whores aren't buying up all the tickets for their mates! See everyone in Paris!

The SCs did have their allocations cut drastically. I know of one SC getting 8 out of more than 30 requested where they might normally have got 20+.

I really hate it (and I know squirtyflower does as well) when people come on and disparage other posters by either making comments that are pure hyperbole or that pick out a small point that someone might have made and exaggerate it into a sweeping generalisation.

I think most on here have welcomed the move wholeheartedly. Yes there will be some inconvenience to some but I think they see it as a small price to pay for a fairer distribution system that ensures people who actually are going to the game get the chance to buy tickets ahead of those who simply want the points.

PB, please look again at my post. I was not disparaging anyone, I was just having a laugh.................. sorry if my sense of humour is not welcome. :-)

As I've been insulted and more than disparaged for allegedly sticking up for the SCs I think I am entitled to be a little bit frivolous now and again?
