That was a few hours earlier. They’ve been shifting at a fair rate of knots all day so no surprise that around 800 or so remaining tickets sold out in the space of 2-3 hours

It wasn't long before I checked they were not shifting very fast, and more were being put on in NEC and NWC for example. There were over 800 well over an hour you said there were 786 and sales were next to zero by that point.

The above kind of explains it, to some degree as the 800 were in SS3, obviously people did not want to pay £75 for a ticket there and the club were loathed to sell them at £45 open sale.

Villa away had 60 tickets left too, but they decided it was sold out rather than go to another window.

That can’t be right. Attendances are always based on ticket sales, not actual attendees. How on Earth would UEFA have access to the number of people on the ground at 7.45pm exactly.

Im not saying you’re fibbing mate, just that there seems to be a misunderstanding there. What does fit is that there were easily 10,000 more in after 15 minutes than at kick off.

We were told that they ask for the figure at kick off time

As they go to match day members after season ticket holder they will always go to match day members. Are there more members than spare tickets? Who knows, and depends on SC holder take-up, some never ever go to any cups games.

I have a membership and i had no problem getting a ticket for the match against Real Madrid,just to bad with the corona
