Well, i only know the media talks the same way you do. But, it is not le Parisien that is making a fake news. The chief of Qatar observatory said something along the lines : "Qatar is unhappy because the french people are not grateful of the Emir investment in PSG", "something about being unhappy because they pay too much taxes (PSG alone pays more taxes than PL, Serie A, la Liga, and Bundesliga clubs united or soemthing like that)", "but that any move before World Cup 2022 is very unlikely".
There has been noise about possible takeover of Roma before, after Qatar Airways became their shirt sponsor. Noise that has been denied by the owner of AS Roma.
To be honest, as another poster has said here, if they were to withdraw from PSG, i don't see why they would go to Roma. This club has not won more significant trophies than PSG (in fact, they won less) while being way older. Their brand value is lower than PSG's one and Italian clubs have it hard with FFP too, because of their TV rights being low like France.
However, it is a club from Rome, the capital of Italy, so it may have some political interest hidden there, the same way there is with PSG and France.
As someone said here, Qatar won't move before their World Cup. They bought PSG to get the political influence to gather votes for this competition. They sign a 3 (+additionnal 3) year deal with Accor as the main sponsor shirt for 60-75 M and Qatar is a major shareholder (second highest stake) in the group, which puts us at 2022 (or 2025). They have just started building our new training field and academy center valuated at 200-300 M. And Nike is supposed to renew for 75 M (+ high bonus if PSG go far in CL, according to an insider in our forum, it could go way past 100 M) until 2027.
So, no one can really predict what will happen in the future, as we didn't even know beforehand when they took over. It is all in the hand and mind of the owner. All i know is, while they didn't meet the sporting success they would have hoped for (like City in CL), their commercial and brand building strategy is working. PSG, while being in an inferior league, has a top 10 brand value. Only Qatar will know if it is worth starting all over somewhere else. If that was the case, i wouldn't chose a Serie A club since they are low in incomes from stadium + TV rights. Even a club like Milan AC can't seem to develop fast enough and are battling FFP every day. And they would get criticized a lot in Italy due to the origin of the owner, especially with Lazio being their rivals. I would invest in British league because even the last club in PL gets more money than the first one in the other leagues. Also, being broadcasted everywhere, you don't have to put so much effort to build a brand. If you are good or your team enjoyable, you'll get new fans and a good visibility. And people will give you more credit for finishing 4 in PL than winning any other league, bar la Liga. Leaving PSG will mean that Nasser will lose that seat at UEFA as well (exactly as it happened with Gazidis), and i'm not sure they would be happy to lose a seat of influence unless they quit football altogether.
I take that as a warning. They are sending their message by their channels in order to threaten and stop the smear campaign about them. PSG has always been hated in France, while being one of the most popular club at the same time. Now, we are probably the most hated club in Europe or in the World. And, in those articles, it is said Qatar is unhappy about the french people being ungrateful. This is really true, i can't deny that. People like the money but despise the owner or they despise both if there is jealousy.
