PSG post match thread

Another good performance away in Europe, seems the only place we're able to perform this season.

Weird game, felt like we could have won comfortably 2 or 3-0 somehow, yet also felt like we could've lost 4-1. Unlucky in both conceded goals, but lucky in our 2nd goal.

PSG were pretty poor, if Pastore & Veratti are still out next week, with Matuidi now banned they could be pretty light in midfield which is a bonus. Shame that Luiz is banned though, Marquinhos is a far better defender IMO.

Only negative for me was Aguero, he seemed like he was either knackered or couldn't be bothered, no explosiveness or effort, his passes seemed like they would barely travel 5 yards. Just didn't seem up for the game at all. Shame we can't rest him at the weekend as it looked like he could do with a break.

I think he may be rested. 5.30 kick off and Tues return leg is not ideal

Brilliant result and the boys showed great character to come back after the fuck up between Joe and Nando and conceding the second (offside) goal.

Brilliant performances all over the pitch, but special mention to the two Ferns, Eli, Nic, Jesús and KdB.

Still a lot of work to do, but PSG have to score more than us at Etihad, unless it finishes 3-3 or 4-4, of course.

O.K. I admit it, I am an Old Traffford Red (since 1974) but I just had to register and congratulate you guys on a fantastic win. I did think PSG would take you apart but am more than happy to be proven wrong.
Good luck in the next match. Finish the job. I'm sure that you will.

Watching the game looked like two very poor defensive teams, Otemendi is a joke of a centre back , he gets caught on the ground and way out of position far to many times. Sagna, Cliché and Mangala weren't great but weren't that bad. Fernando is what he is (shit) Fernandinho with KDB touch and go for MOM, Silva OK, Navas and Sergio were dreadful. That's a very average team performance and we got a result so let's hope we see it through next week.

I'm just as flabbergasted anyone can think we played well tonight.

Yaya will be there for the return though, different kettle of fish with him in midfield.......it's his swansong year so will be up for it (and he's had time to rest).

Like we were never getting those decisions in Munich the first time we played Bayern
The first 3 years in the comp overall tbf. Refereeing has been a bit better this season and last. Don't think the refs in tonight's game and Kiev away have been great but they've been impartial which is a welcome change.

I'm flabbergasted that you cannot see we played a different game, tonight. We weren't brilliant, i don't think anyone is saying we were.
We kept them fairly quiet and had chances, that with a bit better final ball, who knows. But to say we were awful is not right.

At 2-1 it was in the balance. We got the goal and it was a great result. If it had gone 3-1 the knives would have been out for the performance. I'm with you, it wasn't good but the result clouds peoples' judgment.

The problem is we have no proper backup. It's essentially must win looking at ours & Uniteds fixtures if we want top 4, Bony clearly isn't up to leading the line and we all know he's not starting Kelechi.

Seems a must start for me, then hope we are 3-0 up after 50 minutes so we can take him off. What happened to when we had Dzeko, Balotelli, Tevez & Aguero eh.

Verratti, Matuidi, Luiz and, to a lesser extent, Pastore missing from the second leg is a big boost.

I thought we got fuck all from the ref tonight and he gave them a number of dodgy ones from dives.
Nah, he was giving soft fouls both ways and wouldn't have given the penalty if it hadn't been so soon after the previous shout, told their players to get fucked plenty as well when they went down.

sometimes after reading the post match thread you get the expression some fans expect to much from these set of players, we have a good squad but not in the category of bayern, barca, and madrid, some weaknesses have been badly exposed this season, having said that our cl performances have been very good and we played a good game today with a good away result, dont know what more you can expect from a team struggling in pl and injury hampered squad, not many pundits thought we would come away with a draw
