It would be good to see the salaries after qualification/12 months in the role to get an idea of actual living standards.
Not the 11 grand rise on an MP though.The starting salary for a teacher in 2018 is 22,917.
This will go up 3.5% for September.
More experienced teachers will get a smaller pay rise - 2% / 1.5% - which is a bit arse about face as there is no problem with getting people to become teachers, it's keeping them in the job for more than 5 years which is the problem.
An Army Private's starting salary is around £15300, rising to around £19000 when qualified.
And these people are prepared to put their lives on the line for the defence of our country.
