Glass of lemonade and lime. (for the mother in law). £2.10.

Fair well pubs. It was nice knowing you!

not all charge that, I don't think that bad, I reckon it costs an awful lot to keep a pub business running. staff/heating/ waste/ fiddle loss and so on.

I agree; the overheads must be horrendous.

The mark up in pubs must be the biggest of all businesses surely? That and restaurants. Bought a bottle of wine from a pub in town , cost £22, i googled it and it costs £5.99 online. Madness.

Im only 25 and even i look back at the good old days when i could get pissed on £20 in the local, would be lucky to get 5 pints with that now

Many pubs are running at a substantial loss, hence why you see so many boarded up.

Cheap booze from Asda/Tesco etc, combined with sky high rents of £500/1000 per WEEK, plus staff costs, mean many don't stand a chance, unless they either a) Have a thriving food trade. or are b) extremely busy.

It's catch 22, put prices up, lose even more customers.
